My male veiled wakes up at 8. He usually goes and warms up under his basking spot for a bit. But after he is all woken up he will spend at least half the day walking to the bottom of his cage trying to get out! He tries the bottom, the top, and all the corners around the plants and stuff. He...
I'd suggest altering temps a little maybe and putting his lights on the top of the cage aiming downwards. What is the rest of the enclosure like? (Like humidity, plants, vines, etc.)
I'm also wondering why a coil is not good. I know a tube is better at providing more light and uvb but I don't...
So I found 3 of these little bugs in the plastic pot holder I have in the bottom of Clydes cage to catch suicidal crickets. I believe they are centipedes.
Could they be a problem? I squished the 3 I found. Where did they come from? I have a parlor palm next to the holder but it never sits...
My guy hates cameras and phones :D He was curious about my pepsi the other day, couldn't decide if he disliked it or not. He was staring at me drinking it so I held the can out to him and he kept looking inside like "what this?". He likes trying to climb slippery things (like walls or cabinets)...
I just saw this thread and I'm so sorry for your loss Jann. Padre was such a handsome boy and will be greatly missed. My thoughts go out to your family and your other chams, I hope things start looking up for you. I give my chameleon medicine everyday and I will definitely start inspecting his...
I can't tell if male or female but I'd say male from the coloring as well. He looks thin and may have mbd, his limbs look a little bowed to me around the elbows and ankles. I'm not sure though so hopefully more will comment. I'd get a screen cage and a basking light when you can. Keep giving him...
I buy crickets every week, I calculated it to around $500 a year. I'm such a failure lol :(
I can't bring myself to do the work for insect breeding, just cleaning out my small cricket holder is gross enough! I only have one male veiled to feed though and he is starting to eat less (hopefully...
Your guy may want out to explore or a mate. My male spends half the day walking to the bottom of his cage and back up over and over :o I try to let him walk around my room but every time he just runs straight to my geckos tank
As others have said, try and keep her wound clean. As long as it doesn't hurt or make her injury worse try some ointment maybe. Get her to a vet as soon as you possibly can. I hope everything will be alright :(
I hope Loki starts doing better! Just try to stay calm and think of your best options to help him :) Hopefully you can get to another vet that is able to help. Be sure to keep us posted.
There was only substrate in her lay box, the tank only has paper towel on the bottom already. But I don't think I'll be putting the lay box back in there, she didn't use it anyways. I had put it in just in case cause she is unsexed but I've been unable to see any pores.
Hmmm now to figure out how to give her a shower :o She is very jumpy so i'm not sure how it'll work if she's freaking out the whole time.
Should I wait till tomorrow morning to clean things? She usually gets up for the night in about 2 hours and the only other thing I have to keep her in is...
Thanks a lot! My vines and little tree decoration have a few holes in them, will they be ok being soaked? Once you soak all the decoration stuff, do you just rinse the bleach mixture off or do you wait a while after rinsing and let them dry out or something to make sure they are safe to be...
If it is mites what can I do? Will just rinsing the vines and stuff in the tank help or do I need to replace them? Do I need to give my gecko medicine just in case or will just squishing any I see be ok?
They didn't feel hard at all when I squished them. I only feed the gecko the repashy crested gecko diet. I'm thinking they came from the moss cause it was kept wet but I'm worried my gecko has bugs now :(
I know that's probably a dumb question but I was cleaning out my crested gecko tank and when I lifted the lay box there were a bunch of tiny little bugs under it!
The bugs are real small and brown, they look like brown specs of dirt. They were too tiny to really get a picture. The lay box was...
Just thought I'd share a funny little story with everyone :D
This morning I had to take pictures of my pothos (cause they keep getting dead leaves, plants hate me) so I could show my boyfriend how they were looking. I was using the phone on my camera and had the phone in the cage so I could...
Welcome to the forums :D
Hefner is looking good! Everything that your doing seems good. I'd only suggest a little higher humidity if you can, although mine also tends to stay at that level.
I'm not sure if the orange cubes are healthy for the chameleons, hopefully someone else will chime...
He looks healthy from the pics. Is he breathing normally? There could be something stuck in his throat or somewhere but I think he would be gasping or something if that was it.
Are you sure he isn't grumpy at you or something in his cage? It is odd that he is just leaving it open, I think he...
Good job for everyone involved. She looks like she's doing great! I hope the original owner is keeping in touch (or checking the forums) so he knows she is doing alright. I'm sure he felt awful :(
I think Hope will bounce back just fine. My cham Clyde has mbd and is doing wonderful now, other...
