Generally, it is not recommended to keep two chameleons together. Although you may not see signs of stress now, most likely you will in the future. If you are able, I would suggest separate enclosures (out of sight of each other). How long have they been together?
You are very close to me! I am in Rhode Island, and it is tough keeping the humidity up.
Attach the cup to a branch/vine and leave the feeders in there. Chances are, he is not comfortable eating in front of you. Make sure the feeders are put in the cup and left in the enclosure in the MORNING...
Although 18in isnt all that big for an adult iguana (unless you were excluding tail length :P) They deffinitly get aggresive when they grow up. Too bad that they are sold so often saying that they are as easy to manage as a bearded dragon. :( Glad you were doing the right thing for yours though!
Say that you have to get in made us think that you intended on giving it to your chameleon. You should not take offense to our efforts to give you advice and our opinions, we are simply out to make sure your chameleon is being kept healthy. Please keep us updated on her condition.
You have to realize the people on this forum care about the health of your chameleon. They want to see keepers who take back the bulb that could hurt their cham and buy the correct one. They want to see keepers who do their research and find a vet, or are willing to drive long distances to...
I have a German Shepherd that is frequently in the same room as my cham's cage and he doesn't seem to notice she is there. But his cage is way above her eye level which I think is why neither are bothered.
I feel like this may be stressing out your chameleon and gecko... and quite possibly the chameleon was hoping for a nice gecko snack. I would recommend keeping them out of eyesight of each other, to avoid any issues. Just my opinion.
I too have a ferret and I wouldn't say she is quite ten times the size of my chameleon :P But your chameleon cage should be above ground level anyway, I think the chameleon will adjust to it easily considering he will be high above the action. :)
I am happy that you were able to get him to a vet! I am sorry about the amputation. :/ I do not have experience with this, but I wish you the best of luck. Please let us all know how he makes out!
