One of my mantis egg cases just hatched. I bought a "Flightless Fruit Fly" culture from PetSmart. Um, I call BS on the "flightless" part. These little buggers were flying around within seconds of releasing them into the enclosure.
So, those are out...what can I feed my baby mantises?
These are...
I'll be finishing a cage tonight with a coat of polyurethane and I'd like to know how long until the cage is chameleon-safe? I wouldn't want the fumes to hurt her.
My dad's male is 5 months and is generally wary of us humans. My female is about the same, if a little less so.
We just built both of them custom cages where one entire wall opens, and before we had to reach our hands in a small door and dig around. I think the more open, larger arrangement...
I got three egg cases the other day and put them each in their own deli cup (mesh lid). They're in the garage now in about 75 degrees with medium humidity. What else do I need to do? When can I expect them to hatch?
American Cockroaches are really easy to breed, but start-up can be a bit expensive.
You'll need a trailer and lots of exposed food, a drinking problem, and a couple baby daddies.
I've seen it work countless times :D
I tell my fiance they're south american beetles and if they escape they die within a week. She's no less grossed out than by crickets. Both live in the garage.
Make sure they have decent ventilation. High humidity levels killed off 400 of 500 crickets for me.
Now I use dubias as a staple food and throw in a dozen gut-loaded pet store crickets once a week. Too much of a pain to keep a cricket colony.
