help panther health problem sunken eyes and other

If by MVB you are meaning a Mercury Vapor Bulb... which I am assuming you do.. You should just change this out to a 60w house bulb. Your basking temp is high. Depending on the age of your chameleon: Baby/juvenile (<9 months): ambient 72-80F (22-26C), basking 82F (28C) Adult males: ambient...

Doesn't want to eat from cup.

You need to take proper precautions when free ranging food. Such as properly gutloading and hydrating crickets (this would deter any possibly cricket feast) before they are put into the cages, which should be done regardless of free range/cup feeding. You would want to make sure the chameleon...

Doesn't want to eat from cup.

You should think about letting them hunt their food. This allows for good active exercise for them and it keeps them sharp. They will instinctively hunt which is a good thing! I feel like cup feeding chameleons makes them lazy. Unless it is necessary for health reasons.

    other plants?

We use umbrella (shefflera) plants in out panthers cages. They are tall and lush (and cheap). You can pick one of those up (about 3 ft tall) for about 10 bucks at home depot/lowes. The following link is the safe live plant database. Should give you some other options...

Chameleon sick..Weak,eyes,shut,not moving during day or eating!!!

After reading this whole thread to get caught up on where I left off by advising you to take the poor thing to a vet. I am in COMPLETE agreeance with the last entry. If you would have just had the correct setup and your husbandry wasn't lacking (uvb bulb, misting, and proper ventilation) you...

    Am I getting scammed?

If the seller is doing this for the sake of the chameleons health and life then you should understand and just wait wait. If he isn't comfortable with having the chameleon shipped, it is best to wait until the weather is better. I understand that you have probably spent a lot of money on the...

just got a reptifogger, i have a couple questions.

I can tell you from experience that those things are CRAP... If you have a jacksons you should go get a cool mist humidifier and attach hose and pvc to allow for mist to get to the cage. You should return that reptifogger before the fan breaks on it. Also, I have a setup that needs a humidifier...

    New Chameleon Help

yes, substrate can impact a chameleon very easily. Even though people think "My chameleon isn't going to eat the dirt/rocks/cocoa bark ect." what happens is that the chameleon goes to aim for food and misses and BAM... a mouth full of substrate... It can most definitely kill your chameleons.

Is this setup ok for baby Ambilobe

Also, I can suggest a small screen cage (like the one in my picture next to the aquariums) and you can use the chicken wire and leaves like we did. It was definitely ventilated well and you can control the temps a little better...

Is this setup ok for baby Ambilobe

Yes, misting is very essential for the little guys to stay hydrated... ESPECIALLY if it is 95 degrees where you live... How have you been getting water to him/her? With the fan, it shouldn't be directly blowing in the cage. That could cause a draft. I am going to have to say that whoever sold...

Is this setup ok for baby Ambilobe

It was probably 95 because of the tin foil. You also could try a lower wattage bulb. We used a daylight blue bulb made by zoo med for the first couple months.. Make sure you are dusting the food with regular calcium. Hatchlings become dehydrated very quickly so make sure you are misting him down...
