Thanks Jann...he really has been showing his colors lately. Makes me want to get more, but I told myself I would wait at least a year and see how this one goes. Part of me thinks it would be better, someone else to eat the hornworms before they get too big and other feeders as well.
Sorry...
Ah..ha! Seeky fix.
Looks like I found a way around my storage problem. So a few photos today of my cham meditating.
Lifting Palm.
Wow! These are huge!:D
I would agree that three a day (crickets) seems low at a young age. Try offering three times daily. You might be surprised that he'll take three each time. Try hornworms to help hydrate when urine starts turning yellow. But they grow fast! Wax worms to give a little fat, mealworms or...
He's not a veiled. I stick with my first guess. I see a what looks like a tarsal spur in one pic so I'll say male also. From only the pics you posted and your comments, I would be suspicious of his health. I rarely see my cham laying on branches or vines, certainly not when held. The pic of...
My boy Caesar gets into plenty of trouble. But there's always a few that crack me up. He definately has a sense of humor. The last shot...he's holding on with two feet and a tail for like 10 minutes.
Are you sure this is a veiled?...looks more like a "graceful". I'd like to see more photos.
There is a suspicious bump on the right front arm just above the elbow, could be the start of MDB or previous break. Does he have these on other limbs? Does he lay on branches frequently or not...
All things must come to an end.
Caesar sure has been showing some amazing colors the last few weeks. I'm sure it has to do with spending time in the sun and out of the cage. I've used up the available space here on the forums so Caesar's pictorial will be coming to the end. :( I hope you've...
Yipes!
Finally it was in the 70's here. So outside we went. He showed his dirty yellows (stressed) when we were outside for a the first bit, then started to really light up. Next thing I know he's wearing dayglo. I got a little nervous so I brought him inside. Where he promptly headed to...
Holy Cow!
Yesterday was a rebuild on Caesar's enclosure. He just too big for the flexi-vine wild pothos. So armed only with few perching branches I began the rebuild taking down the vines then removing the pothos. And what a surprise!:eek::eek:
And like a kid on a jungle gym he was...
New Photos
I'm sure the weather has been great all over giving cham owners and chams the opportunity to bask in the sun. :) Below are a few pics of Caesars first real time in the sun, about an hour.
Not knowing we were going out, he showed some color when I got him from the window.:(
It...
Some quick photos
I just let my first hornworm pupate and hatch.
Photos here
I certainly don't have a free enclosure large enough. But I would think something along the lines the size of my cham enclosure to keep the adults, just sparsely decorated.
See enclosure size, materials and...
Still not big enough!
Here is my Caesars' enclosure...although as big as it is (50"X20"X56"), he would prefer to free-range the whole office:eek:
My enclosure before Caesar arrived 6 months ago.:)
The enclosure today.:D
A view of the office.
Updated pics
Hard to believe I got my boy in July of last year. A few new pics for your die-hard fans...:D
Find the Chameleon?
Full on in the sun!
Love the dark shadow!
Puffin up for the morning warm up!
Cool that his discussion came up. I've been having a recent crix strike with Caesar and picked up an 8 oz. tub from feederbreeders.com, I met the breeder at a recent reptile expo. It came with a mix BUNCH of very small to adult roaches and everything in between...I'd say at least 5 male and 10...
Thanks! Your boy Bert is looking well also. Your enclosure looks slick. I'll bet it holds humidity well. I tried to make my office still appear functional while allowing both the cham and his enclosure blend into the room. That wall was tough to work any furniture in on, anyway...
As @suzi posted completing the form may help to identify something other than feeder bordem.
As for a quick answer, I have a few. Although a new ower of chams I have faced some "feeder" strikes as well with my veiled. I find variety is the best solution. A variety heavier on staples like...
It's funny...I used to come in the room and look in the places with the most cover...Now I go in, look in all the worst places for him to be, and shorten my search dramatically.
Do you have a picture thread? I don't see any albums on your profile. I'd like to see your chams.
