He's pretty funny he won't always try and climb out on me when I open his cage up to clean or mist but I would say half of the time he will. Makes it a little easier on me cause if he is trying to come out I figure its not as stressful as the times when I need to get him out.
He will fall asleep like 5 min after I turn the lights out its pretty funny. Sometimes if I make too much noise he will squint one eye open. I'll try and sneak a pic of him tonight when he is sleeping to show what he looks like normally when showing colors.
King Louie ate from a cup in my hand for the first time today. Pretty excited about it because yesterday he wanted nothing to do with it. Hopefully in a few weeks he will be eating out of my hand=).
Yea they are. I know what caused it I was just surprised to see all his colors. When he normally colors up(I've never seen him fire up so far)he gets some nice colors but not super bright so it was just cool to see.
So last night on my way up to bed i tripped on some wieghts on the floor and smashed my face on the end of the bed. I snapped on the lights to try and figure out what happened. i look over at King Louie's cage and see a very angry chameleon.
So I was wondering about chameleons and their coloring and from what I read they get bright(fired up) when they are angry or stressed. King louie tends to get his brightest(besides when he fires up all the way) when he's sleeping. its not really a concern I was just wondering if anyone else has...
Just looking for some tips on hand feeding. I've only had him for a week so I don't expect him to start immediately. But he has warmed up a lot with interaction. He no longer runs and hides when I open the cage. It seems like his favorite snack right now is pheonix worms. So any tips or advice...
cool, I just picked up some pheonix worms and he loves them. I think I might try and raise some silk worms since no stores in my area carry them and its kind of a pain to order them.
so right now my panther is on a cricket diet with the occasional wax worm as a treat. I've read they also like silk worms and pheonix worms. Can those be used as staple diets to mix things up a little bit. I'm not planning on totally stopping with crickets but just wanted to check if there was...
I think I will switch to that schedule. I live in NH so he won't be going outside for a while since its starting to get pretty cold. Thanks for the input guys I appreciate it.
I dust with calcium once a week and the herptivite once a month. I do gutload my crickets with a gutload my breeder gave me. I do have wax works for treats every once and a while since they are high in fat. Also I have some silk worms that I give him to him to switch things up.
My cage is 30in wide 42in high 25on deep and made of screen
I have a 160 watt zoo med UVB/UVA bulb that keeps the tank about85-90 in his basking spot and about 70-75 I'n the lowest spots. I keep the light on for about 12 hours a day.the humidity stays anywhere from 60-70%. His cage is In a...
I got my first chameleon on saturday. He is a 8 month old panther. I got from a breeder at an expo in NH. The breeder was extremely helpful with any questions I had. We named him King Louie and he's eating and drinking pretty well. He gets a little spooked when I open the cage to mist or clean...
