I emailed about a lizard on my local craigslist. They said its called a black scaled african lizard. I googled to get more info about it but nothing comes up under that name.
I even looked thru classifieds on kingsnake and didn't see anything listed as that.
I have asked for a pic.
Any ideas?
He seems less afraid of me today. When he saw the cricket box, he quickly made his way to the front door...haha. He climbed all the way out and was sitting on the bottom edge of the door frame. I've been placing crickets in one spot and he has figured it out!!!
Here's a pic while he was on...
I use a rubbermaid too. My enclosure sits on bricks inside the rubbermaid. I haven't drilled holes since my guys tiny crickets might escape so I have his enclosure slightly tilted so water drains off.
I'm in AL. I used to order supers online and when I moved out in the country, the mailman would leave them near the mailbox instead of front porch. I had 2 whole boxes cooked in the sun. The reptile shop cost me less for a 1000 just gotta a road trip to get there.
I noticed Mulberry's cheaper...
Oh, that's sad!! I hate it when petco here gets certain animals in! I've gotten several reptiles there just to save them. 2 wks about I brought a guinea pig that had 2 dead ones in the cage and everyone else sick...called animal control as soon as I left!
Wow, Look at that tongue!!!!
I like the set up. And thanks for the info on them:-)
I can't wait for spring/summer to make an outside location. Will be next to my tortoise in my side yard. That yard is surrounded by electric fence to keep the wildlife and loose dogs out.
I'm keeping crickets as the stable diet for sure. Sometimes small ones can be out at Petsmart. They always have big ones when I go in.
There is a good reptile shop but its about 45 min to and hr drive from my woods. They only have crickets, mealworms and superworms. That's where I get a box of...
What's ya'lls thoughts about feeding these to a baby veiled. I'm just thinking of options for those times when I can't find small enough crickets. Is 5/16" too big for a 3 1/2" baby?
Yep, he's eaten:-) I put his crickets on some leaves near him since he's tiny and so are they. I did see him today get one off the bottom. Its amazing how fast he got down there!
Here's another pic showing how tiny he is. He's in a 16 by 16 by 20 that someone here said was good...
Got my new baby out for his 1st weigh in and wow is he fast!!! He changed from bright green with his bits of yellow to bright green with purplely blue strips. Is this an indication that he could be colorful as he grows up??
He also weighed a whooping 4 grams.
Thanks everyone! Yes lots of pic, I'll take:-)
I took lots of pics of Jelly too just didn't post them all. It's kind of weird to see a cham with normal legs. Its still sad that his MBD was so severe by the time I got him:-( but atleast he had a better 2 months here!
Wow, he's awesome!!!! Love his puffed up look...hahaha
What kind of parrot you have? I keep my cham in my ventilated little bird room. Figured as much as my beardie hates my macaws, they might would stress a cham.
