My Jacksons seem to reduce their intake during the winter months. And they are very seclusive. I peek in on them only. When I started really getting into this forum and was learning more I began "observing" them because I became worried about them and that actually caused them to stop...
last week I noticed that my female ambilobe was not pooping. I soaked her in warm water for about 15 minutes then put her back...nothing for about 3 more days...she didn't look happy :(
I tried the warm water again and about 5 minutes after I put her back...Kapow! I was never so happy to see...
I want more!! I know I will be bringing in another female or two of ambilobes (yeah I know the market is getting a bit saturated..but I like them!) and 2 more female jacksons...it's just a matter of setting up cages and and the misting system...they are very addicting :)
I wish mine like them. They would only eat about 1 every 1 or 2 days. I had to put them out for the birds because I didn't know what to do with them..they were running out of food and nobody would eat them  I wish I could have sent them to you :)
Here's pics of my 2 new boys. The light colored dude is from Sunshine Chameleons and the red guy is from Lancecham...thank you soo much Lance and Justin...I am sooo happy. :D :D :D
I showed these guys a female today and this was their reaction. The light colored dude is about 6 to 7 months...
One of my favorite pets was a rat named Streak. He was food for my red tail boa who isn't eat him. I have this thing that once I nurture it it's not a food source anymore. Streak lived 7 years, came to his name, would lay with me and my daughter when I read her her bedtime stories...Cool dude!
My Jackson's seem to do the breeding thing okay...it's the rearing the babies thing that is precarious. They seem to be more fragile than ones that have to push their way out of eggs. I think once you dial in their needs...that's when it's really fun ;)
You are so cute! I love looking at your world through your eyes. It seems like you enjoy life. Treasure that...it's something that money can't buy or fix :) Cool farm...you couldn't drag me off of it if I came to visit. Especially after I saw the picture of the mountain!
Now I know I'm 3 times older than you but...I love all of those bands!!...(not so hot on the stones though)
I also get alittle crazy with:
The Mars Volta
System Of A Down
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Alice in Chains
Velvet Revolver...and there's more!!
Just for kicks go check out my little...
The laticauda is on the CITES list? I had a pair from 1997 until 2002 that hitched a ride over with a shipment of chameleons (my friend was going to feed them to his Parsons but I didn't have the heart to)! They bred and laid eggs and had babies!!!What fun that was, they are beautiful...
I am speechless. Your "enclosure" is awesome! That would be a dream come true for me :o
Thanks for all the info too. I'm doing the whole RO and mist king deal too (only not at your level) The information was really helpful.
BEAUTIFUL!!! :D :D
HAHAHAHA Those were great! I've seen these guys on HBO but I've never "watched" them.
I'm sitting here with headphones on giggling at the computer. My husbands like "whats so funny?" :D :D :D
When I had just one the DYI mister was fine. I was misting all day every day! But now that I'm up to 4 I purchased a Mist King mister (received it yesterday!!!!) life will be good after I hook it up!
I have Indian, Pink Winged, and Annam Stick Insects.
I use a tupperware tub with X's cut into the top to stick blackberry brambles into. You can also use sticks with leaves from rose bushes and raspberry bushes.
I mist them with warm water 2 to 3 times a day and they are SOOO cool! They...
Awww, poor Kevin. Size doesn't matter :D :D :D Oh wait...sometimes it does! Sick humor.
This is just my opionion but fluctuating the incubator temps when incubating (making the incubation time longer) may help create more robust babies. Then once hatched definitely access to natural sunlight...
