I have the same problem with flies. I think they might be fruit flies. I don't know how to get rid of them yet.
FYI- the waterfall in your chameleon cage is a bad idea. You can search for other threads on them.
Saline solution- http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saline_(medicine)
It's mostly used for IVs and irrigation of wounds. Anything you buy OTC will be for human use. Unless it's a product for reptile eyes, which you will notice I did suggest.
This is why I suggested not using eye drops, the...
Saline solution (if thats what you have) should definitely not be administered to eyes. If you do it will cause a lot of pain. If you have some sort of eye drops, these are formulated for human eyes and again should not be used.
There are special eye drops for reptiles, the name eludes me...
At home improvement stores the sell soaker hoses. I can't remember the exact name but it's basically a hose made of water permeable material. Would do exactly what you need. You shouldn't need more pressure than whatever a regular tap puts out either.
Make sure you have a ton of egg crates for your crickets and they don't die off so quickly. I give them orange slices and their container smells like oranges! ;P
I use heavily planted enclosures. My crickets always seem to gravitate to the warmest part of the cage (basking area). Just make sure this is clear and you will be fine.
I like to use a site like photobucket and then embed them in the actual post. Just upload to photobucket, click the share link, and copy the HTML link. You can use the preview function to see your post before actually posting it.
He is very cute!
I'm getting some 5 week old chameleons next week. I thought they would be too big for FFs, but I have a few cultures going for my mantids so that will come in handy.
May I ask how you are feeding the FFs to him? I want to minimize how many FFs I get all over my house. ;P
I would also suggest giving him daily showers of approx 15-20 minutes. You can search the forums on techniques for doing that.
Edit- once you get his hydration fixed you should look at proper supplementation and get him a bigger cage. That cage is far too small, he should he in a 48" tall cage.
