I could be handling him too much. I try to get him out of his cage once a day to walk on me for a few minutes. I'd really like to get him used to me so he won't hiss and gape when I put my hand in the cage! Temps are between 75-80F ambient and around 80-85 basking. Humidity runs about...
:(:(:( Hi guys. I'm getting concerned and don't want to wait until it's too late. I have a baby veiled that I'm guessing is close to 4 months old now. I haven't seen him drink since the second day I had him which is about a month now. I've been watching the stool and urates daily which...
well, there ya go! being a newbie, that's why I ask some probably silly questions to you experts! LOL!
I couldn't find the Rep-Cal w/o Vit. D3 locally so I've been using Rep-Cal with Vit. D3 twice a week on my baby cham. Where can I find the Rep-Cal w/o Vit D3? I also use the Herptivite...
Sorry! I meant kinyonga!
Julirs, I'm confused. In the first paragraph you say the following?
"Most feeder insects have a poor ratio of calcium to phosphorous so its important to dust the insects just before feeding them to the chameleon at most feedings with a phosphorous-free calcium...
Hi Josh:
Could you give me a bit more information.....brand, etc. Also, where on Ebay did you find it? Sure would like to get one for my chammie too.
Thanks!
Good News!
I bought 2 small potted pothos yesterday. Brought them home, washed them up thoroughly. Misted right after I put them in with Sage. Not only do the water droplets stay on the real plant vs. the silks, but the baby intuitively knew exactly what to do! He went over to one of them...
okay, got it. I need to reposition the tank so the leaves catch the water then drain off into the cup. I posted pictures over the weekend and was told he's probably 3 months old.
I see all kinds of postings about proper hydration. I took out the substrate and am using plain old newspaper. If I mist for 5 minutes or until he starts to drink, the bottom of the tank would be soaking wet. He's still a baby so I've got him in a 10 gal. tank. I've been misting just until I see...
Okay, saw the pictures. WOW. My next question would be proper hydration. I see all kinds of postings about this. I took out the substrate and am using plain old newspaper. If I mist for 5 minutes or until he starts to drink, the bottom of the tank would be soaking wet. He's still a baby so...
How do I know what normal stool looks like? What I've seen so far in my young cham that I've had 2 weeks now is one part brownish and another part yellowish-creamish-white. They are not always together. Is this normal? Does anyone have a picture of a normal stool?
Thanks!
Thank you all for the input. Yes, I now realize the substrate has to go after reading much here yesterday. Also, I knew the glass tank was temporary and am searching for a better setup. I can't go with an entirely screen enclosure because I have a demonic cat that won't stay off of things...
