Betty and Bruce soon to be

So I attempted to put them together but either Betty is being stubborn today from being moved around a lot or she is already gravid with infertile eggs. Your thoughts?

5 foot long red tail boa update thread!

Sounds great! And thank you for the compliment! She is a HAM! She will give you kisses all day long. We are actually on the look for a male redtail that is albino or het for albino to breed with her. She still has a couple of years before she is ready but I like to have the two for a while...

Betty and Bruce soon to be

So I got tired of Bruce doing his morning ritual of going down to the base or his umbrella plants and looking at the nastiness that is his floor and shooting me the eye. You know, the one that says "clean this up otherwise I'm gonna poop on you the next time you get me out". So I cleaned his...

    is my beardie sick?

Yeah I wouldn't go as far as to say romaine is not good to feed and has no nutritional value to it. It has quite a bit actually. Now iceburg lettuce is a different story. Sure there are other greens that are better like mustard greens and Collard greens but romaine works just as well. As...

Who has the oldest Veil out there?

What kind of snake? They would have been completely moronic to do so because this is one type of lizard you wouldn't want to feed to a snake. Anyway, nice pics :) especially the Santa hat one lol

i just inherited a 5 foot red tail boa O.o

But if you used like cypress mulch with a handful of Sphagnum moss and some leaf litter (literally dead leaves) that would be a really nice looking mixture and would keep humidity at proper levels.

i just inherited a 5 foot red tail boa O.o

The other stuff like cypress mulch you get at home depot or Lowes... big bag for like $5 :) much cheaper than reptibark and jungle mix you can come up with yourself it's like 40% coco husk and 60% soil (bake the soil first)

i just inherited a 5 foot red tail boa O.o

The concern for mites is good but if he is your only snake it is not really a concern. The switch of substrates will not stress him out but do at your own leisure.

i just inherited a 5 foot red tail boa O.o

No need for branches really unless you just want to dazzle up the cage. Bark? Is it reptibark? If so I would suggest a different substrate. It is just a poor quality substrate and has led to respitory infections. I would go with cypress mulch or like a jungle floor mix. I wouldn't go with...

    Concerned about betty

Not cutting out supplements. Her schedule for supplements are fine. Only thing that could stand to change is more sunlight and hydration.
