So I attempted to put them together but either Betty is being stubborn today from being moved around a lot or she is already gravid with infertile eggs. Your thoughts?
Sounds great! And thank you for the compliment! She is a HAM! She will give you kisses all day long. We are actually on the look for a male redtail that is albino or het for albino to breed with her. She still has a couple of years before she is ready but I like to have the two for a while...
So I got tired of Bruce doing his morning ritual of going down to the base or his umbrella plants and looking at the nastiness that is his floor and shooting me the eye. You know, the one that says "clean this up otherwise I'm gonna poop on you the next time you get me out". So I cleaned his...
This is Ava on the jungle mix Amanda she is our albino columbian redtail boa and she is in a 20g large.

The other stuff like cypress mulch you get at home depot or Lowes... big bag for like $5 :) much cheaper than reptibark and jungle mix you can come up with yourself it's like 40% coco husk and 60% soil (bake the soil first)
The concern for mites is good but if he is your only snake it is not really a concern. The switch of substrates will not stress him out but do at your own leisure.
No need for branches really unless you just want to dazzle up the cage. Bark? Is it reptibark? If so I would suggest a different substrate. It is just a poor quality substrate and has led to respitory infections. I would go with cypress mulch or like a jungle floor mix. I wouldn't go with...
