It would probably be much cheaper and easier to buy a couple nice screen enclosures from lllreptile.com than it would be to convert your "porch" into an enclosure for them. Just my opinion.
I also notice when the feeder is motionless my little veiled wont pay attention to them. The solution I came up with was tap the cup a couple of times to get them moving. Once he notices movement he runs to the cup and eats em all up. Don't know if that will help, but it did for me so thought...
Hands down, one of Cameleon Nations awesome looking Nosy Be offspring. Sire is Cyrus if you are looking around on his page. Just looks amazing, saw him when i picked up my male veiled that i got from him and now i must have one of his offspring.
Beeze, looks great, and thanks to the others for the posts. This should help me get things going and will post pics when its all done. I am building a place for 2 (not together, divider in the middle) so its prob gunna take a while to put it all together.
I did't read through all the posts so if it's been said, my bad. I had the same issue with my female getting to close to the bulb when she was in an enclsure almost (if not) identical to the one you have. Solution that I came up with, upgrade. Get a nice screen cage, linear uvb bulb with a...
I would have to agree, my male is just mellow, but my female on the other hand...get close to the cage and shes puffed up ready to brawl. I have had her for almost 5months and have not been able to handle her once. she wants nothing to do with people and lets them know whenever they are around.
Yeah, they are going to turn around and probably sell them for 10-20pounds more than what you get for them, so they probably wont offer to much. But if you think about it, selling 10 gets you 150pounds ^^.
If your wondering if they are a good cham to own, I would have to say that they deffinatly are. I have 2 right now, male and female, while the female is a real piece of work (hates anything to do with human life), my male seems to be getting pretty use to me. I got him at a much younger age I...
They may know nothing more than you, I'd say it's the fact that they took the time (in school) to learn all the specifics about a certain animal and know how to care for it properly. Not to mention the fact that they more than likely have a little bit more money to spend on their chams and can...
So what your saying is that because they have healthy parents and are CB with a suitable environment to live in they should just automatically live? If only life were so easy.
Made the hour and a half drive out to Chameleon Nation's place yesterday to pick up my baby male veiled. These are a couple pics he sent me, my cam is out of service so I will have more pics soon.
I was under the impression these were more designed for field work rather than long term housing. Im sure if you didn't see them already they have their usual rectangular enclosures on their site as well. I don't think they make the explorariums in an adequite size for a chameleon, but im sure...
You wanted cheap :D. Im sure if you wanted you could get the tubing from a local hardware shop for very cheap as well. Im not sure on whether it will just run out or not, still need to test it myself.
From what I have read it's as easy as getting a decent sized plastic cup, positioning it where you want it, poke a small hole or 2 in the bottom and away you go. Will be trying this tomorrow to see how successful it is, I to would be more comfortable if water was available constantly throughout...
