I just ordered a pound of montane cricket crack from tiki tiki to try out for my crickets, and I was wondering if it can also be used to gutload other feeders such as mealworms or superworms. I mean as far as having it as a substrate for the worms to feed off of. Has anyone tried this before?
HEMIpenis that thing must be huge if its a hemi! lol jk I couldn't resist :/. Not to go off topic, but till what age should chams begin to be fed like adults? I'm not sure what age mine is because the pet store I got him from was just as clueless as me. I'm assuming he is from six to twelve...
I took my cham to the vet on last weeks monday to get him checked out for RI. I got setup with some meds to give him through ten days for the RI. I haven't heard any crackling or popping anymore but he's still gaping :/ His temps are between 79-70 except for where his light is which is at 84...
wild caught feeders
What is considered safe? I would assume almost all wild caught bugs (mantids, grasshoppers, etc) must have some type of pesticide. I live in the suburbs and I had a juvenile iguana that I gave a grasshopper to and within a week died. :( FYI he seemed fine before this too...
I too have trouble opening my chams mouth as well and I kinda feel bad prying his mouth open lol :(. My vet said to drop .02 or two drops from the syringe, which is double the .01 perscribed, on the cricket in a plastic cup or something and feed it to him. The reason for the increase in the...
Well 84F is where the basking light is aimed at. Everywhere else its in the high 70's. I don't mist him at night I just have the humidifier running to give him the night cool down. Hopefully another Jackson owner will chim in ;). I change the water out everyday and when I was using the...
I got him at 84f high side and 77 low side and a cool mist humidifier that runs a few times a day and twice a night to cool him off some more at night. I'm trying to figure out the best water supply now and I'm still not sure what he likes best. I tried a dripper but he doesn't seem to notice...
He's actually sleeping now so I don't want to disturb his slumber so no pictures lol :) I'll take some tomorrow. The vet looked in his mouth and around his nostrils and no signs of mucus build up. I told her about the noise and she said that it most likely is a RI. He's been on his meds for...
Update
I took Camelio to the vet this Monday and the vet didn't think he was severe, so thats good :). She ended up giving me some antibiotics for the infection and some antiseptic spray for his skin. She spotted some black spots on him. Anyone ever seen these tiny black spots?
He was in his cage when he did it and it only happens at night around the time the lights are about to go off or right after. I watched him all day today and he was acting fine. No gaping of the mouth no noises nothing! :) He munched on like 20 small crickets and was still exploring his place...
