Hey guys I just noticed a red bump on the corner on my Jacksons mouth and also a little bit of swelling on his left cheek. I've been reading other threads and it looks like it can be caused by some accident with the feeders.
I noticed it about two days ago and its getting bigger :( He's...
Haha yeah I got his caresheet :) I just wanted to see how us on the forums take care of beardies thanks for all the info guys :) and I'll try to post some pics when I get mine ;)
Aw man sorry to hear that.... :(
What would be the live food to veggies and fruits ratio. And do they start eating less crickets as they get older? I know that that is the case with iguanas. Can they also have othjer feeders like meal worms and dubia roaches etc?
With all of the bad info that we get on our chams from the internet and local pet stores, I wanted to know how you guys take care of your bearded dragons. As far as food water suppliments terrarium temps all that good stuff. I want to make sure that if I get one that he's taken good care of...
lol well actually what I was trying to say is that the one that I have does not have a filter and its way easy to clean. I clean my humidifier once a week with vinegar. Its nothing difficult to do and then once a month I will clean it out with some bleach. The ones with a filter I would say...
I too have a jackson male with the same issue. Didn't really think much of it. If it is a issue I'd like to see what other people have to say as well.
FYI chris, your chams actions are exactly like mine and I have about the same setup with a few differences.
Same here I have a schefflera that I got from Home depo for 10 bucks, and it came with three plants in it. BTW I've heard that veilds and panthers like to chew on some of the leaves, but my jackson has never chewed on his. Just a question to present: are jacksons known to eat plants as well...
Just had a question Steve. Where do you live? I'm not trying to be a creaper lol I was just wondering because I would also like to pick up some bugs but am very worried about pesticides and don't want my cham dying or getting sick :( are you in a relatively rural area?
Looking for a at least 18x18x36 cage but preffer a cage that stands at least 48" tall. at least 18" fluorescent bulb fixture simple dome heat lamp. Preffer Houston area just for ease of picking up stuff.
Yup that happens to me too. You'll probably want to clean the leaves once a week as well. I hand mist my plants and after a few days of misting I do get some white stuff on the leaves which prevents water from beading on them. My guy only drinks from the leaves so for me keeping the leaves...
Hmm... Thanks for the input. I've seen him gaping during the day but very rarely. He didn't do it tonight and the sound I heard was only when he fully opened his mouth for the first time only. Maybe it is a mechanical sound from his jaw. I made a app with the vet for Thursday morning, but...
I have a 50w basking bulb as well that raises the temps to mid to upper 90's will this do? and would you know of another type of antibiotic to use? I'm not too sure how much experience the vet that I take him to has with chameleons. I did miss a day on the antibiotics too :/
Also, is there...

How would a montane species do in an outside cage in Texas? I would assume tha it would just be ok in the cooler times of the year since they don't have too much of a tolerance to heat.
