I've wondered that myself but have never come across a situation where I've read about any one having a problem with it.

Agreed you are playing with fire. It might look playful, but Im sure it is causing unnecessary stress to both animals. The female is probably running the male away because she is gravid.

Welcome to the forum, you are definitely doing the right things. I was actually looking at the same panther you are looking at. I love his colors and he looks really healthy. I live on the east coast and know the seller doesn't want to ship so that's kinda of a long drive for me :D

This is a very interesting post I've only been keeping chameleons for five months now and haven't really made any changes. Other then there timer on there lights. I like the idea of mimicking the rainfall in there natural habitat. :)
