    Keeping Baby Veileds Together

No...this, as with chameleons in general is not an exact science. The earlier you can get them into their own cages usually the better. Less likely to have injuries or fights and there's no competition for food. Remember they are solitary creatures so in their own cages they will be less...

    breeding live food need help

I switched my beetles into a new container last week. My sister walked into the room and about flipped shit. 15-20 beetles climbing around in the container. She screamed and I laughed hahaha. I'll hopefully have my first batch of supers to feed off in about a month. They are really easy to...

    I Don't Cook

I use cricket crack, collard greens, kale, squash, grapes, apple and sometimes a little bit of orange. For the veggies I buy one of each a week and everything is fed the greens baby crickets, superworm beetles, baby superworms, etc. I still barely use it all before it goes bad.

    New Cage and such!

Very, very true. I have a guy from the same clutch, really great animals. Enclosure looks great. Beware that hibiscus will die if not put outside every once and awhile. I had one and it didn't last two weeks. Switched it out with a umbrella tree and I have to cut it back every couple weeks.

Where is the best place to purchase lighting equipment?

lllreptile.com has the best pricing IMO. I hate those gift cards because you can never use every cent on them. If the total is $.01 over the total on the card it'll be denied. But it sounds like a great option for those who do not have a debt card. Credit cards are a big no no IHMO. Been...

Veiled Cham with possible injured front leg

No need for the red heat lamp as veileds need a temp drop at night to help them sleep deeper. Just use a regular incandescent bulb for basking, 40w or 60w which ever gets your temps where they need to be. And put it on the same timer as your UVB bulb. Unless the mesh is really thick a...

    bugs on Umbrella Plant?

Sounds like fungus gnats. They can be pain to deal with. The easiest thing to do is to let the enclosure dry out more. Watering the plants with soapy water will help kill them too. One trick I used that was suggested to me was to wrap the cage in saran wrap with a some of dry ice in there to...

Walmart sells one that measures temp at the unit and a probe and humidity at the unit for somewhere around $13.

    my enclosure

It's the tube florescent right? Don't listen to pet stores 98% of the time they have no clue about chameleons. They just try to get you out the door with as much merchandise as possible whether or not it you need or if it is harmful to your chameleon's health. Read the raisingkitty site...

    my enclosure

Chameleon use UVB to process calcium. Make sure you are supplementing correctly. The link I provided in the previous post has some really good supplement information. The heating light should be a normal incandescent light bulb 60w or 40w. Whichever gets the basking temp correct.

    my enclosure

Get rid of that compact florescent UVB immediately. They are known to cause eye problems. You need a florescent tube UVB preferably a repti-sun 5.0. What is the top made out of? UVB will not pass through glass or plexi. Ditch the substrate, nothing is best or a paper towel for humidity and...

    misting systems?

I use a dripper system that I put together with stuff from Home Depot: Rubbermaid tub aquarium heater fountain pump (make sure you get one strong enough to pump the water up high enough) 1/2" tubing (connects to pump) 1/2" to 1/4" reducer (look around the fittings section at homedepot sometimes...
