    Chameleo Estevez has escaped

Whoops, maybe I should have been more specific. He was being housed in a cage that I made myself, not one from diycages.com Here is the link to the cage I made that he was in: https://www.chameleonforums.com/budget-no-skill-diy-26260/

Mistking Ultimate Value Misting System w/ Zip Drip $200 SoCal Locals!

I recently bought a Mistking Ultimate Value Misting System with a Zip Drip. It actually just arrived at my house yesterday afternoon but I have decided not to keep it. I was planning to get multiple chameleons but have decided to just keep the one for awhile as money is currently tight. Here...

    Super Worms!

No, but I've dug up an old plant to find a large super living in the soil. If they fall off the screen they should just end up on the pvc then climb back up the screen.

    Super Worms!

Try hanging one on the screen. The supers climb around and the movement makes them go crazy, at least in my experience.

Worried about Stress (first time cham owner)

Speaking of yawning, was his mouth just hanging open? or was it just a quick open and close? If it was the latter, that is pretty normal.

Worried about Stress (first time cham owner)

I don't think you mentioned temperature. They usually keep their mouth open because they are too hot. What were your temps during his color changes? Does he seem fine now? Moving him around could be stressful, but he should get over it.

    weird behavior

He was stressed because you were cleaning his cage. This is normal, no chameleon is fond of someone sticking his hands in their cage and wiping stuff up, but it must be done. He was climbing towards you because you were probably more conveniently higher than his cage. How high is his cage?

    UVB Fluorescent Fixtures?

I think it is better to take advice from those with experience, such as what has been offered, instead of taking the advice of assumed information. The advice to house them separately will save you heartache and vet bill money. If you do want chameleons to cohabitate, some pygmy species...

    Chameleo Estevez has escaped

Kayleigh and I have to thank you all for the kind words. Everyones posts, pm's, calls, and words of encouragement in general have helped us through this time. If he just stayed put around our yard and the neighbors he would have had his fair share of bugs, water, and perhaps a run in with a...

You may use pics from this thread: https://www.chameleonforums.com/babysitting-chameleon-looks-sick-20940/ That one is an oldie. You can see her in her current condition at chameo. http://www.chameo.org/adoptions.html She is the third one down.

    ANimals compatable with chams

I will agree with the consensus of "none". Even another chameleon is too much for most species.

    Building a relationship

Eisen is just trying to warn against the dangers of anthropomorphizing and animal that is pretty much indifferent to human emotion and being a catalyst for emotion. He can come off a little abrasive, but I think something is lost in translation. While some can offer the compassionate side of...

    Chameleo Estevez has escaped

I've already let a few people know, but I thought I'd update you all. Yesterday I recieved a phone call about my "lizard" down the street. Somehow he made it like 15 or so houses down the street and was found in the street dead and ran over. By the time I saw him he was a few days gone...

    Strange behavior by veiled cham

She might have been moving a little fast for his taste as well. Perhaps if she moves slowly next time he won't care about her presence.

    Types of Feeders?

I also have to agree that Dubia > Crickets. Especially if you can hand feed them from tongs or a feeder dish, they never get loose. I usually have at least 2-3 feeders at a time and alternate depending on what I am buying for the coming weeks.

    help worried

Search "Eye problems" or "Blind Chameleon", most people with those problems usually have a compact bulb. Check out this link. http://www.uvguide.co.uk/phototherapyphosphor.htm Unless you are positive on brand, placement, and uv output; which anyone without a UV meter can not be positive...

    Provoking a colour response.

Wake him up from sleeping. Sleeping colors + being woken up rage = super crazy colors Not that I would recommend doing this all the time, but for a quick photoshoot for someone super mellow, this works pretty good.
