I’ll definitely see if I can find this at the store when I go today! When the crickets don’t move, he also is weird about wanting to eat them so that’s why I did tweezer feeding at first, but after he almost ate it one time, I stopped using it. He might just need to get used to the cup vs seeing...
That’s true! He is getting used to me now so he doesn’t get upset when I’m around but when my husband is around (who works a lot and doesn’t come into my office much), he gets super anxious and hides and will watch him behind leaves 😂 I’ll keep trying with him though, thank you for the advice!!
He is 2-3 months per the reptillium! I have a good set up going but being a new owner, I am not sure what to look for. I see severe pictures but not really any of the MBD developing.
Good idea with the bottom of the cup! The suction cup actually unscrews off, so I did make a hole in the enclosure to hang it, but he doesn’t like it in there, so I don’t leave it. I just use it during feeding and put it away so he’s not stressed. Maybe he just needs to get used to it? 🤷♀️
Right, that’s why I’m trying to get him away from tweezers 🙂
I’ve been watching these crickets for 30 minutes and they can’t get out. I don’t think crickets can jump on surfaces that are rounded, or these crickets are just dumb lol
When he sees the cup, he puffs up, hisses, opens his mouth, and...
Before, I was using tweezers but I was worried he would bite down on them, and didn’t want him to hurt himself. Also the stupid crickets kept jumping off of them and getting lost in the enclosure and I didn’t like that. I decided to buy these cups from Amazon that helps keep crickets inside...
Hey @Beman ! I ended up going and buying a new UVB fixture and bulb. It is a T5 HO high output, 24” wide. I am planning on having it horizontally along the enclosure to fit and hopefully get a bigger enclosure next month. I have two bulbs, a 5.0 and a 10.0 - which would you recommend if the...
I do have a dripper going all day, just in case 🥰 I’ll raise the bulb more so the temp can go down, and just keep watching him. It was a reptillium place, and the inside of the store is pretty hot and humid because of all the reptiles they had, so I can see why he may like warmer temps. 🙂
Right now I just have the 5.0 bulb. Have to wait till Friday to get the 10.0 bulb. ☹️
Sounds good about the UVB light. It’s between 6-8 inches, so he can choose to be closer or farther if needed.
Yes he is a Panther baby. He seems to like the higher temps. I had a bulb that made it 80-85 but he...
The UVB is 6-8” away, since that’s what I found on this forum as the range. It may have been an old thread, but I’ll work on lowering the vines a bit, and getting the 10.0 bulb.
The heating lamp is lifted with an arm, and it’s about 3” away from the screen so he doesn’t get burned. His basking...
