If the terrarium is getting too hot, try lowering the bulb wattage. Only logically.

Beautiful chameleon! He looks older than 4 months. My veiled is almost 4.5 months old is approximately 3-3.5 inches from snout to vent. Unless chameleons grow at different rates.
