You'll need to get your own reservoir. Get a 5 gallon bucket at Lowes or Home Depot.
The MistKing starter kit comes with every thing else you will need. Follow the online instructions and you'll have it up and running very quickly.
Don't do it! You can browse these forums for numerous reviews and 90% are negative.
Most keepers have either a Mist King or Aqua Zamp. However, you really can't go wrong with a Mist King.
Soon, you'll have many replies confirming my recommendation. :D
Initially, I thought I would want to breed Panther chameleons. In fact, I have a male and female that I chose, specifically, to breed. Now, I can not see myself breeding this species because I see the market to be a bit saturated. That raises the 'going to a good home' concern.
However...
My male Panther does the same thing. He will hand feed, occasionally. But, he will never come toward me. If I get too close for his comfort, he will let me know by hissing, curling his tail, puffing up and getting ready for attack. If I get closer than that, he will strike at me. And, trust...
You need to remove that cham to it's own enclosure. From reading your post, I can only assume that the one you thought was dead has been bullied and dominated by the other.
Additionally, if she needs to lay her eggs, place a lay bin in the new enclosure. And, have another lay bin ready...
I am reluctant to breed crickets because they smell, really bad, when amassed together. Plus, the annoying chirping, ALL NIGHT LONG, from the horny adults.
Congratulations!
Lately, I have been feeding my crickets the day old crested gecko diet that my geckos don't finish. It gets a little hard and brittle after sitting in the gecko food dishes. The crickets completely devour it and already has plenty of good lizard nutrients.
Of course, I still feed the...
If you could post a clearer picture, it would certainly be much easier to say for sure. If you to, try and get a pic of the vent area.
From the somewhat blurry pic, I would say female. However, a clear picture would allow the experienced people to say with more certainty.
He is still very much afraid of the camera. So, I can't get too close to him with it. But, you can still see his nice colors beginning to come in. Although he is still very young at little over 4 months, I think he will be very bright.
Get rid of the night bulb. He's probably not sleeping because of that. They don't need it, unless his room is particularly cold. If that is the case, use a ceramic heat emitter with no light output.
I would say that he needs a week or two to completely settle in to his new home. Give it...
Yes. Jacksons will require a bit more humidity than your Veil. I would put a Jackson in the same size enclosure (2'x2'x4'). Just supplement the MistKing with a fogger or something else to keep humidity. The temps are also a bit lower than what is needed for the Veil.
You should check...
Thank you all for the great information, once again.
This forum consistently proves to be the most active reptile forum that I subscribe to.
Thanks! :D
Nice story!
It's really incredible to see all of the interest that a Parson will generate. They are a truly awesome species.
Someday, if the stars align correctly, I may be writing my own Parson story. Until then, I live vicariously through other Parson owners.
Thanks for the explanation. This will help me understand how to keep them away. So, I'll keep the plants out of the enclosures for about a week and let them dry, thoroughly. I'm sure the chams will be fine without their trees for a short time. And, we will get rid of those nasty bugs...
