Thanks for the advice. Believe me, when it comes to my pets, I'm a bit on the over protective side. I was actually standing right next to him when this happened. Hard to explain the situation but this cat ran and jumped over us from a second story balcony. I still bring him outside but I'm...
Hey, thought I'd post a little update. I hate reading posts like this and then the person doesn't give any final outcome. Anyway, my little dude seems absolutely fine. I've been watching him extremely close and i can't see anything even remotely concerning. In fact, he almost seems better than...
Yes, i can vouch for panthers jumping from experience. It happened last weekend. off of a 5 foot fence when he saw a cat. I feel for you. I've never been so worried or felt so bad about anything in my life. Good thing chams seem to be reasonable durable.
You both gave good advice. I've been watching him very closely for about 5 hours now and he seems totally normal. But I will keep watching him. Thanks for the help
My 6 month old chameleon just jumped off a 5 foot fence and landed on a cement slab! He saw a cat and got scared. He seems completely unphased. I had him out of his cage watching him closely for about 2 hours and he was acting completely normal. He has great grip and nothing seems to look...
I haven't yet but I guess that's the next step. I'll have a test done and see what the vet had to say. Probably about time to have one done anyway. Thanks
Sorry for the grossness of this image but here is a picture of the stool. The actual stool is a little less normal shaped than it usually is but urate is why I'm worried. I've been trying the shower method the past couple of days but it doesn't seem to be doing much. He smacks his lips like he's...
Thanks for the shower advice. I'll give it a try. one concern I have is that im not sure he'll just sit on a plant. it seems no matter where he is, he wants to go somewhere else. Hes a wanderer for sure. I was thinking about putting the plants inside of a smaller cage i have and put that in the...
here are a couple of the most recent pictures I have of him. They were taken last weekend. The one where he is more red shows the little wrinkle i was talking about. It's not always visible but when he moves a certain way it looks like that. The other one is just him looking handsome. no stool...
Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Male Ambilobe panther. Hes about 6 months old. I've had him for 5 months.
Handling - He's handled almost daily to take him out of his cage to let him roam my house and then to put him back. He always walks onto my hand on his own. I leave him alone otherwise...
He may just have no grip. My chameleon does the same thing to an extent if he is walking on something that he can't grip very well. I wouldn't say full on splits though. He basically just gets his but really low. probably fine if he's walking normal in his cage though.
That's awesome. I remember the first time i saw my chameleon eat. Such a cool feeling. I pretty much lost my mind and ran all over my house for a while. Congrats. Now you just gotta get it on video so you can watch it in slow-motion. It's the best.
I always love seeing your pictures (here and on facebook). Your house looks like an awesome place for both you and your chameleons. I wish I had the time and money to chase those guys around all day. Definitely seems like you live in their house. Not the other way around.
When I first bought my panther about 5 months ago I purchased a warm mist humidifier to keep the humidity up in the room he is in. He has a dripper and automated mister, so that's far from his only source of humidity. Since then I've seen that most people recommend using a cool mist humidifier...
Awesome! What can I say? I worry about my little dudes. A lot lol. This guy is my first lizard of any kind and really my dream pet. So no matter how much i research, it seems like there is something new around every corner. I want to make sure he's living the good life. Anyway, thanks for your...
I signed into my youtube account just so I could dislike that video. so mean:mad:. It's too bad comments were disabled. I would have torn her apart. As for your situation, not living with your parents does wonders for your freedom. Unfortunately living in someone else's house limits some of the...
I have noticed a few times in the last week that my 6-month ambilobe's neck looks sort of fat on top. I have attached a couple photos to show what I'm talking about. The one where he is mostly green shows what i mean. The one where he is more orange was taken 3 days later and seems to look more...
