Ended up having to take out a brom. Couldn't fit the branches I wanted to in there with everything so had to choose what to leave.

The sap is only released from a cut or break in the bark. If a leaf is cleanly removed or falls off there is no sap or residue. As long as you buy a healthy tree and it has sturdy limbs and you don't prune it, there is almost no way you could come into contact with it.

Why not just buy a real ficus? They are very easy to care for. They could grow in a closet if you tried i'm sure XD
