a little update and wanted to know if anyone tried this with dubias or other feeders? i tried with the supers w/ no luck getting them to climb up the keeper tube, but no suprise there really.
also i had to re make this when i built my new cage, i used a 3/4 in. ribbed plastic flex tube from...
well generally yea, you CAN house multiple chams as long as there is only 1 male and no aggressive females, but the proper housing for that style of keeping them would need to be much larger than simply putting 2 cages side by side like i have done here. dunno why that crossed my mind, that was...
np and thanks :)
and actually for housing a breeder pair, the divider *might* not even be needed, but it would be pretty silly to end up needing it and not to have made one ;)
raw is good, keeping a mealworm colony for just such an emergency is also a good idea since they are ridiculously easy to keep. not a staple feeder but good to have around coz... well you know :)
ok so i was looking thru online blueprints to build a real home for my cham and toss the reptarium, and well long story short i couldn't find any acceptable designs for what i wanted to do, so i started from scratch. chameleonnews has some good ones but they were way too large. also i took...
i can count on one hand how many crickets escape from my auto (cup) feeder in a week, it's literally as close to zero as it is ever gonna get. between tape + gap there is at least 2 inches between the climbing screen and the edge of the cup... the front part of the cut on the jug makes it about...
for just powering lights and whatnot you shouldn't need too much power (unless you have a cham house)
you could get a cpu uninterruptable power supply or a backup battery pack that you charge yourself for just that.. somethin like this...
going thru your other threads.
your cham does not "love" being handled, but he does love the chance to get out of the aquarium you're keeping him in. IMO you need to switch to reptarium or build him something better.
the first thing you will learn is to never trust anything the pet store...
yea, price is the one thing :p lol
pet stores usually are horrible places for any chameleon, alot die from improper care in pet stores which is why they don't stock / risk losing panthers when they can buy / kill vieleds for nearly nothing.
first, let's not get mad at me just for having thoughts. if you fully read my comment i think it's quite clear that i never insinuated anyone here was feeding them just for the sake of watching a cham eat a mouse. just because i personally don't see any other reason for it doesn't mean that...
