Those are some pics if his home. It is 48x48x22. It sits in our kitchen counter in a high traffic area and he seems to be doing just fine. He eats a lot and moves all around his cage.
We have a combo of live plants along with some silk/fake plants. He always sleeps in the ficus and spends most...
I live in Calgary, Canada and I paid $300 for my male panther at 3-4 months old from a private breeder. I looked at all pet stores and there was only 1 male that I found for about the same amount so I went to the breeder. I think $300-$400 is standard around here.
Veiled were less, around...
We just started using the dropper and have placed a baking tray under our planter, where most of the water falls.
Problem is we have a custom cage so we will have to design a system. Problem is we don't have much height above the cage since it sits on our kitchen counter. So a long 48" by 22"...
I am completely new to owning a chameleon and we didn't go the route of having a smaller enclosure for our baby chameleon and he seems to be thriving.
Why have a small enclosure, what is the benefit of this??
Sorry if I have high jacked your thread.
When ever we hold him he flares up and puffs out his neck/chest and tries to make himself look super big, sometimes he even opens his mouth. Once we have held him for about 30 seconds or so he just wants to climb and get to the top of our head as quickly as possible. But he seems completely...
He also knows where to find the dripping water for drinking and has a couple favorite basking spots. I really don't think having a smaller cage is necessary. So far, he only gets a little mad when we hold him at first, the he realizes we aren't going to hurt him.
Jack has no problem eating. I think we go through 100 crickets (5 week old) a week easily. I agree that a small cage isn't that great for him. He was in one before we finished his new home and he seems to thrive in the large one. He moves a lot and has no problem cleaning out the cage of crickets.
Hi all,
Just thought I would share a couple pics of our male panther chameleon. He is about 5 months old now and we have had him in his cage since the beginning of December.
I bought him from a local breeder when he was about 3 months old. We met at a reptile show in our city (Calgary...
Well we just got our first panther chameleon and he is about 4 months old. Still fairly young, and small.
He is healthy and happy and I take him out of his cage everyday to be handled so he can get used to it. I think the more you do it the more comfortable it will be.
So far he has only...
Ya, we considering building a custom cage out of wood and screen that we could buy at any hardware store.
We have priced some materials and we could do it for about $50.
We will keep looking but custom might just be the way to go!
Hi there,
I am looking for a 24x24x48" setup and I have found loads of good deals in the US but everything in Canada is over $175 for that size of home for a new male panther I am getting around Xmas time.
I am just trying to get the setup ready early to avoid hiccups later.
Any...
