Female Panther - unsure how to tell if she is egg bound

Hi there, We have a female, it is our first female panther and she is about 10 to 12 months old, we aren't completely sure. We put dirt in her cage in a bucket about 12" deep as recommended and we did tests to make sure she can create "caves" in the dirt when she digs. Anyway, some days...

    Custom Eight Cage System

that is so sweet! I am afraid to share this post with my boyfriend because he would build it in heart beat so we could have 8 lizards! I am a little bit jealous though.

New 3 Month Nosy Mitsio x Nosy Faly - High Traffic Area

We have ours in our kitchen, high traffic area. We are just sure to cover with a sheet/blanket if we are in the kitchen after the lights go out. I think they get used to it. Sometimes our female panther is right at the front of the cage and is fine and sometimes she hides in the back corner...

Impacted or needs to lay eggs? Or maybe something else.

Thanks, we will have a bin in there within the hour and see how it goes. Since the bin is at the bottom of the cage does it matter what temp it is at?

Impacted or needs to lay eggs? Or maybe something else.

So our young female panther has been acting strange lately. We think she is egg bound and are out right now getting what we need for a laying bin for her. She has been laying on her vine most of the day basking. Being quite lazy compared to most days. She is about 8-10 months old. We don't...

Official Enclosure Picture Thread #2 - post your pics!

So this is pretty well organized chaos! Our female panther seems to love it though. We have fake vines, dried sticks/branches, live plants, silk flowers/vines and so far she seems to climb on everything. She sleeps on the live plant. She drinks from it as well but no where else. Something I've...

Official Enclosure Picture Thread #2 - post your pics!

this is a sweet setup, one of my favourites on here. What do you feed and do they get out of the cage? Do you use a feeding cup so they kind of stick around there???

    Panther Update

Hi Jberd, sounds like you are starting off well and welcome to the forum....I just started a few months back and this place is great for resources and research. I think the misting schedule would depend on the humidity in the home for the chameleon and maybe adding a dripper for drinking I...

Frita swallowed her tongue?! Pulled it out .

Did I miss something? did you find out what was wrong with her? What did the vet say to you and why she had these tongue problems? I think I read everything in this thread but it seems to have skipped some parts! Glad to see she is better and has the strength to play on your blinds, I need to...

    R.I.P Millie

Ya, poor girl. At what age do they start to lay eggs? And is it good to just always have a laying bin?

    Why do chams shed skin?

Our cham always seems so much softer right after a shed, it's pretty cool.

    not cool

Wow, that is disgusting. How did they go 5 days without anything? Must've had some shipping issues that held them up. So sad :(

Shedding - very fascinating how quick it happens!

Hey, Just thought I would share this cool event. So far we have had her for about 2 months and this is her third, clean shed. I always find it amazing how fast this event happens. Before: During: And I'll post another pic tomorrow if there are cool changes. I'm a new cham owner so I'm...

So its official....Loki hates me lol

ChamLady your post was humorous! My cham is the same, about 6 months old and generally hates the process of being taken out of the cage but loves to run around on anything we put her on once she is out. She doesn't seemed stressed unless the dogs come to close!

    Another horror story

Poor guy looks really bad. Any more updates on this? Do they want to keep him?

New Owner - not sure we are doing it right....

https://www.chameleonforums.com/showthread.php?t=123808 There are pics in there of her and her cage. It is heavily planted and has loads of vines and natural sticks. I don't buy the whole small cage thing, they are born into a massive environment in the wild so why should they be confined in...
