Yeah it does take a while for them to get adjusted, anywhere from a week to a month. Just leave him be and he'll be fine, try not to stare too much into his cage and yes I know how diffcult it is not to look at him too much!
Personally I would ditch your cage and get a full size one. I got...
Not really too familiar with raising really young babies but the breeder I bought my 4 month old from has tons of babies. He uses the smallest crickets you can buy and fruit flies. Depending on how many babies you have you're looking at 1000s of crickets a week as they'll eat tons at that age.
Nah I think these are staying. Can get 2 for about £5 here and as other people use them on here i'm gonna try them when all my normal bulbs run out. Do you get the 75w ones to replace the 100w incandescent ones?
Err.....I think you have the wrong thread pal ;)
Well I had a go at doing it today and no dice :(. I tempted him down off his perch with a wax worm. I tried holding it on my arm by the elbow in the hope that he'd climb on but he wouldn't, I tried holding it in one hand and outstretching the other but nothing again. I then tried to put my...
Yeah I saw that vid and it's great but the chameleons are just sitting there, my fella runs if I get my hand near him. I think, if i'm honest, I may be being a bit of a wuss lol. I'm not so much scared of him I just really don't wanna stress him out.
Well good luck with that cause I went to Tescos today and there's none left and this has been reported in shops all over the place. Go for the halogen bulbs cause these are bright and still provide the heat.
As far as i'm aware the halogen bulbs will be still be around for quite some time. Does anyone use halogen bulbs for basking? if so would I keep them the same watt as the normal bulbs? my normal bulbs currently reach 90f at the basking spot. If the halogen bulbs will do the job then I have no...
This won't affect most people on here as most people are in the US, having said that it will probably happen there sooner rather than later.
The EU is phasing out standard household light bulbs in 2010 but most shops are already stopping the sale of them. The exo terra bulbs are, I think...
Yeah I think it was around August they got banned, no one has them anywhere now! 103 eggs!? whoa! you're very lucky they were infertile!
I cannot recommend roaches enough. I got mine in July, 4 months before I bought Isambard. I started off with 100, which cost me £30. I now have over...
Did you order some calci worms? I heard Defra banned these aswell  I really wanna try some for Isambard, where'd you get them from?. Mind you he's happy with the roaches I give him. By the way if your cham doesn't like food try tossing another food item in with his staple. Isambard...
I've had my veiled for a couple of months now and he's just coming up to 5 months old. He's eating well, is active, well hydrated and seams to love it in his viv. He's quite a gentle soul and rarely puffs up or gapes at me even with my hand in the viv. I've only seen him go totally dark twice...
I reckon that's what my veiled does. When ever I mist he turns and runs, in the way chameleons run, up his hanging basket to get as high as possible. I call it his sulking corner :D
Same with mine, he eats from my hand no problem but he won't let me get my hand anywhere near him lol.
I...
How does a chameleon achieve it? I tell you why I ask this question. I've had my little fella for nearly 2 months. I mist him twice a day, which he hates lol. He's obviously getting enough hydration because his urates are always white and...well....he's still alive! 8 weeks without water...
This is the second time he's done this! lol. First time I asked the breeder about him not pooing and he did one. Now I ask on here, I gave him a warm misting and he done a rather large one with completely white urates :D so everything's fine.
He's 3 months. Everything's fine about his setup, good temps, all screen enclosure etc and he doesn't seam stressed. Sometimes he'll lay flat and go a little bit dark but most of the time he's basking. I've only had him a week so maybe he's still just settling in? i'm not too worried, yet!
Lovely title eh? ok, I got my male veiled a week ago and he seams to be doing fine. His colours are light green all the time and only ever seams to change when I get too close with my hands inside the viv, even then he doesn't hiss he just shakes like a leaf a little bit.
He eats well...
