I have poured hours into research on breeding silkworms, dubias, and crickets and I'm weighing all their pros and cons. I've come to the conclusion that I want to breed silkies, dubias, and buy my crickets. Question on the dubias: The colonies absolutely explode. I'm gonna be getting my little...
Something you have to consider with glass is that they can see their reflection in this glass, which is, to them, a predator always watching. It can be a source for constant stress. Something to keep in mind.
Mealworms aren't great, as their hard shells make it hard for them to be digested. I can't say that this is the exact problem, but I would get her to the vet ASAP. Some other members here may be able to give a better answer. Good luck
I'm getting a male green veiled soon, hopefully a baby or juvenile. I want to provide everything my little guy needs, and I know variety is a big deal. I'm planning on breeding crickets. Is variety a big deal in the beginning? Also, a question of logistics. I will have my cricket colony going...
I feel as though if you have no idea where it came from and didn't put it in the cage, it can't be good. It might have come in from using outside branches? You might have them infesting your home. Either way, it can be assumed to be wild, therefore you have an issue with possible pesticides...
Let me start of by saying this is a HUGE cage. Easy set up. Nice looking. Easy access doors in the front. Overall great. I have some Crepe Myrtle trees in my backyard and they broduce excellent branches. (I will clean them properly) No bark, somewhat straight, and various sizes. Then I got to my...
How was your experience? I'm worried about the little guy during the shipping process. I'm planning on getting a baby male veiled at the start of this summer.
I visited my local Petco earlier today to see what kind of feeders they have, and noticed that the chameleons they had for sale actually looked healthy and happy. Is it possible that I could get a good chameleon from a petstore like Petco? I know there's a huge stigma around it. Thoughts?
Considering breeding silkworms, I know the basics, however I'd like a bit more information. I know some people have tricks on how to make the whole process easier and more efficient. Let me know please!
Most likely a veiled, and I won't be getting him for a few months, however the enclosure and everything is on its way. How hard is breeding feeders? I feel like you have to put a ton of work into something like that.
I will be getting a young cham soon, and I'm pretty read up on cricket care and what sizes are acceptable, etc.
I realize that they need a varied diet, so I would have to have some kind of worm on hand as well as crickets. What are the life span of worms, can I refrigerate them to keep them from...
Hi all,
I'm getting chameleon as soon as I get out of my dorm, which will be May. Perfect timing as Repticon comes to Houston late May, and this is where I was planning on getting him. I haven't decided between a panther and a veiled, however I am leaning more towards a veiled. I want to get...
I see all these intricate branch systems and highways that some people have in their encolsures. Where do you people get this awesome stuff? Are branches from outside safe? Or is artifical stuff better as it won't rot or grow things?
