lysine
I noticed in the make up of spirulina that it contains lysine.....spirulina seems to be used as an occasional gut load componant of cham keepers mainly because of the vitamin A but I was wondering about the benefits of the lysine in it? as far as I am aware, lysine for humans helps in...
I have never seen this with a cham bt I have seen a (rescued) beareded dragon drink so much that she kind of regurged a bit after drinking...that was like thick clear drool...she actally did this quite often for the first couple of weeks we had her but she no longer does this. She was quite...
Spaying should be a last resort! Wow the price your vet quoted is very cheap!!!! It cost over £400 to have my chameleon spade and it did not work out well! Someone has already posted a link what happened with poor little cham.
i was very sad to let poor Tilly go. It was strange to see her lay there all lifeless! As with all chams it has been wonderful being a part in her amazing life. I learnt a lot too. I had no idea of the complexity (science) of female cham problems despite lots of research it seems the more you...
Final results have come back on Tilly...it would seem that folicles were not left behind but she had particles from her wome that had rehomed themselves on her other organs and these were growing folicles!!!! the folicles were inturn producing eggs!!!! how bizarre is that? The little deformed...
I have never heard of chams eating tunips? Turnip greens yes! I don't normally cook any food that I give my cham but I do grate the hard veg such as carrots so that it is easier to eat.
OK I have just told the vet to leave my poor dear little lady cham asleep. I thought i was ready for what ever the news was but now i am finding it hard to see through the tears to post this. The vet says her innards are a bit of a mess. Looks like there is some egg left in there that may have...
Im curious as to what the stink rod thing is that was mentioned???? Is it like the fridge balls (with carbon inside) you can buy that absorb the gases or what ever it is that veg gives off, thus making veg last longer?
Just to clarify, Tilly is at the new vets (both new and old vet have disscussed Tillys case). I am very happy with the new vet who is much more friendly and willing to discuss and explain things. He has really gone out of his way for us on this one. In Tillys favour the vet says Tilly is in very...
That vet has not made any such offer to us.... She will be opperated on by a different vet on Thursday. Fingers crossed but we will just have to wait and see now. Thank you for your kind thoughts!
Tilly has been at the vets all day today for scans and xrays etc. Its not the best news :( It appears that folicles must have been left behind and she has 4 deformed looking eggs inside her. Because her womb has been removed this is basically an ectopic pregnancy! She will not be able to lay...
Just to update everyone...Tilly did come up to bask for a while yesterday so I made sure she was sprayed well and offered her some food. I have kept her dripper going all the time. She drank a very little bit and took 2 wax worms (not interested in eating her usual food still)...she then went...
Thank you for sharing that information. How very sad! I will keep this in mind and mention it to the vet if problems persist. When I spoke to her today she seemed to think that it was probably behavioral rather than her actually having eggs (but obviously it is not neccessarily the case). the...
Tilly is still way deep down in the hole this morning (just hope she is OK down there) as yet I can not see any movement! but the lights have only just gone on so she may not be very awake. The vet we took her to was a reptiles specialist (which they charge for in a big way!) they are the vets...
well its night time now so not much point in checking the temps just yet becase I wont really get a true reading (her lights have been off for a couple of hours now). I will check the temps and the date she was poorly in the morning...thank you for your concern!
I am at a loss!
I jokingly said to my partner that maybe nobody told her that she could no longer produce eggs when she started digging in her plant...but seeing her digging down near the bottom of the laying bin today, she means business! makes me wonder just what is going on? Is it possible...
My chameleon was spade due to problems laying her eggs. The vet hardly even looked at her and I was told that there was no other option (I asked about oxytoxine etc and was told that that hardly ever worked). I figured that at least if she was spade her problems would be over so long as she...
