    Earthing

I know this is a bit random.... and may not be something that relates to chameleons (being tree dwellers as apposed to floor dwellers) but does anyone here practice 'earthing' and if so is it possible that same benefits that humans reap from it could apply to our animals in some way?

the escape proof feeder bin idea!

Good idea! A little extreme maybe but still good. There are sticky cricket traps that you can buy to catch the odd escapee here and there or to help mop up after a major cricket escape disaster.....I was wondering if there is a making DIY cricket traps? Has anyone ever made there own sticky trap...

Pet shops don't sell calcium anymore!

 I do not understand why non of my local pet shops sell plain old PURE CALCIUM anymore? Calcium with d3.... calcium with a multitude of vits and minerals....Calcium balancers for chams/torts/iggies etc but not pure unadulterated calcium. When I ask why they no longer stock it I get the same...

    Dumped Chameleon...Where to start??

Poor little cham! Fingers crossed that the crickets arrive tomorrow for you. Veiled chameleons can also eat some veg. Live food is very important but you could try offering him some veg...chopped spring greens, grated carrot, watercress etc to supplement the half dead mealies until you find a...

    broken cask OMG!!!

I have a male veiled which I have owned for nearly 4 years. I don't know for sure how old he was when I got him. I think 2 or 3 was mentioned but his age was not really known. I think he may well be an old man by now. I have noticed him a few times getting his cask caught on branches and...

    Veiled Casks

In all fairness yes it is very noticable. I am not overly concerned because I don't feel that it will impede him in anyway...ofcause I could be wrong! after all I don't think anyone really knows what their cask is for? His spine is straight. His limbs are straight. He has no problems hunting and...

    Veiled Casks

Thanks for the replies guys ...Ill go and look up scoliosis! I have no way of knowing his genetics other than mum and dad (both have perfect casks) but I suppose it could be. He really does seem fine in everyother way so it may just be one of those things that we never get a conclusive answer...

    Veiled Casks

What are other reasons for deformed casks other than MBD. I have a young 4 months old male veiled with a deformed cask. He came from a clutch of 20 others who were all perfect. The deformaty was not evident until his cask started to grow. It is slightly twisted but looks normal from one side...

    magnesium

Thats really useful info! thankyou for the link...It will take a while for my poor brain to process it all so i have bookmarked it to read over a few times. I am still a bit miffed as to why magnesium never seems to be mentioned though...I can only presume that it plays a much lesser part in...

    magnesium

this is probably a stupid question but does over supplimentation of calcium not cause a magnesium deficiency like it does in humans?
