Chameleon doing very weird thing with tounge?!

Ok so today while I was misting my chameleons cage he seemed very thirsty. I poured a stream of water down from the top of his cage and he came to drink some and he opened his mouth. A bit after the bottom of his chin widened down and his tongue started spazzing out. It almost formed an L shape...

Changing my panther chameleons cage setup

Thanks. But where would I put him? I have never held him other then me helping up to climb on branches. If I am rearranging things would he have to stay in a different area? Possibly a potted plant outside in my room? If only I could get him on it.

Changing my panther chameleons cage setup

It is pretty cluttered in my chameleon's cage. One of the plants is dying and I think should be taken out. I was wondering if I could rearrange his cage setup. I think it would be nice if I had more branches for him to climb on. I am not sure if this will stress him out. I have had him for over...

    Heating?

I have a 100 watt heat lamp for my panther chameleon. The basking temperature varies way too much. I have seen 80 which I hear is too low and I just saw 91. I am very confused on what to do to keep the temp steady. I originally had a 75 watt bulb which never broke 80 so I had to buy a new one.

Panther brown and black more than colored

My 4 month old male ambilobe panther chameleon is brown most of the time. He is dark brown more of the time than he is colored. I put about 15 crickets in his cage daily and I always see him hunting and eating. I mist him throughout the day, on no schedule. He has the correct lighting and I am...

    Holding my panther?

I just recently got my 4 month old male ambilobe panther chameleon. I have been trying to leave him alone to not scare him and let him explore his cage and get used to his new home. I do understand that not all panthers are friendly and that they aren't lizards that should be held too often...

My first chameleon is coming friday

My first panther chameleon is coming on Friday. It's a 3 month old male ambilobe. I don't have any experience with chameleons, so I have some questions for experienced panther owners. Is it possible I could start feeding it worms right away? I would rather not have the noise from the crickets...
