In fact you probably have longer than that. Mine was set up in April this year and I can only just start feeding off some 1/2" ones to my Cham! I started off with 200 females and 40 males.
I didn't get time to do anything tonight as I finished work late.
I'll sort it all on sat. The other half said he was wondering around and climbing all over the place (screen etc) a lot today which he doesn't normally do because I think the temps were not hot enough. When I got home the temps...
Thanks!
So if I was to hang the pothos about 6" from the top and trail it around the outside, moving it down slightly as it goes around on a vine and have vines under and above also for shade and basking/uv exposure?
I have tried the uv off for about 4-6 hours and that made no difference...
Sometimes they will get board or an insect if it's fed too much. I'm no expert but I also heard a few people say they will get addicted to things like mealworms etc the stuff that generally isn't good for them lol
As far as I'm aware they will breed but it will be very very slow. It already takes long enough to give birth and the 90ish degrees makes a huge difference
Took me ages to convince the other half to have them! Lots an lost of sucking up to her lol. She finally let me have them so I started a colony
She really wasn't keen and even woke up at night and had to read up on them at like 3am lol. After all the sucking up not one of my lizards eat them...
For less maintenance egg flats stood up is so much better because all the frass falls to the bottom plus if you do it like the roach hut videos you can house more than 8000 adults in a 80lt tub.
My colony has been going for 6-7 months with full fledged adults and I have only just started...
I can be done but like I said its better to do both until they are used to it. I had a cup in mine and it didn't take long before he started using it. Make sure you have it near its favourite place to sit, this way it's always in front of them.
Those story's are true but to be honest if you...
Hi and welcome!
I'm very new to chams myself but I do know that the less you hold them the better really. So like it some don't. Best thing you can do really is keep hand feeding as this will build a bond and every time you go to the cage it will know you are a food source and not a threat...
I use 3 buckets and have 10, 5 and 3mm holes drill in separately. Anything bigger than 10-12mm then adults can get through. The last bucket has 3mm for the frass (poo), none of my lizards eat them so I currently have a good roach colony that is useless lol
Being in England it's a lot colder...
So after a busy weekend I have made a few changes!
We moved him from near the window so I'm hoping this will help with the temps etc.
Secondly I went and covered the plastic with a dark wood effect sticky plastic which has helped massively with the glare and slight reflection.
Let's...
Cheers mate. So why is he black then lol I'm hoping the new uv will help but other than that I have no idea what's going on. All I know is he loves coming out I'm moving him from where he is to the opposite corner away from the window so maybe that's the problem. Do you have your polycarbonate...
I have heard so many good things about the arcadia t5 system and the face you only lose 10% through the mesh with the canopy. From what I'm reading people are making the swap when they are due and bulb change. Plus I have already paid for it lol
