Mate I did the exact same thing and now I'm over run with the bloody things. I think 50 would last me a month I'm going to end up with about 200 moths at this rate lol. And yes I have split them too as some are still about 10mm in length
I hardly mess with him it was just that one time I changes things plus he needed a complete clean out. All I do is the daily routine of spot cleaning and trying to feed
Yeah I guess I am lol sorry guys!
I'm just worried that if this is because if stress and the fact he doesn't eat anywhere near as much as what a lot of thing I read it might cause problems later on
He is meant to be a blue bar ambilobe. The colour on the last pic I put on is him out of...
So the misses said that Trevor spent ally of time near and on the basking spot tonight. I'm guessing he may have been doing it a lot for most of the day but I could be wrong.
If I have had the temps too low and with the second halogen I can get the ambient in the middle of the cage to 78-80...
Ok I'll give it time.
As for heating the way tee there was a guy on here that did test on the water heated to 111 degrees and it comes out at about 3 degrees above room temp so it's basically a waste of time and money
They will get a little stressed from cleaning and can go off food and breeding (slowed) mine do but I have so bloody many I hardly notice it. As for food mine don't seem to go off it but I only put fresh veg in every 2nd or 3rd day depending on when I remember.
Make sure they are kept at 90...
So I got the temps of the basking spot to 86 ish so let's hope all the changes make a difference. He is a lot more active than he has been since the changes and explores every inch of the cage but the colour doesn't change.
I'm going to try and mist just twice a day by hand with warm water...
In no expert and still new to it all but I was told on here that as an adult they will part shed ad takes slightly longer. My boy is already slowing up on his sheds, last one took just under 2 days for a complete shed. I was also told it's not unusual for them to slow up on their food at this...
We have moved him once and that didn't make a difference
I got the natural sunlight tub for the old t8 and it's made the cage so much brighter. I also added a better ficus I had to fill it out more. I added another halogen and the temps went up to 78-80 in the middle of the cage and about 75...
Ok guys so there is still no change in Trevor's colours and mood. It's been 6 weeks since going into his new cage now and nothing I'm doing is making a difference.
So the changes I have made are....
120w halogen hanging from about 10" from the top mesh so it doesn't make it too hot to...
Well I wouldn't know what the comparisons would be but 75w halogen is fairly high and I imagine you would need an even higher household bulb to compete. Where do you live? I'm in the uk and I use a 120w halogen because anything smaller doesn't get the temps up enough. I even struggle to hit 75...
