Hii!
my little girl is doing a lot better. I moved her indoors and she got used to having people around her! she used to hide as soon as she saw somebody, now she only hides when somebody open the cage and above all, only closes her eyes during mistings (which is...
thanks everyone for the advice! i'll keep you updated! :)
which kind of vitamin powder supplement would you recommend? do you know one that is low in vitamin A and D but rich in other good stuff?
yes she does but she's so small that even the vet doubts she has eggs!
and I'm only giving her plain calcium and no vitamins since she's still out in the sun during the day!
today she is shedding the skin on her right eye, I hope it's a sign that things are going better!
I'll try to take a...
Hi all,
I rescued a 9 m.o female veiled. with the help of a very good herp vet we got rid of internal parasites and mites . after almost 2 months the little girl gained 5 grams, eats and drinks fairly regularly but still closes her eyes during the day. not a lot like she used to do a month ago...
Thanks everyone for the comments, I'm glad you find my report interesting! It took forever to write it, post the pictures and all but it was worth it!!! Please share it as much as you can! Let's make these little chameleons famous! :D
part 2
It’s very important to help gravid females and juveniles because, in the wild, this species’ life span rarely exceeds two years. Most of these animals live through only one or two breeding seasons, therefore, it is essential for conservation purposes that matings are successful and...
Common Chameleon (Chamaeleo chamaeleon) conservation in Andalusia, Spain (part 1)
The chameleon family (Chamaeleonidae) comprises about 100 species. Even though their shapes, colors and habits are very different, all species share common features such as zygodactylous feet, colour change...
dandelion leaves have a very good Ca/P ratio, they are good for herbivorous reptiles so I don't think they can harm your cham! I didn't know giants (is it oustalet's?) eat vegetables!! :)
bad idea! dangerous, potentially unhealthy for the chameleon and difficult to clean! get a water dragon instead!!! or an iguana! anyway remember that all reptiles love to poop in the water so you'll also need a good biological filter for your "tank" !! :)
exactly|!
I think I found the right country :D , this is a little chameleon friend I met in Spain!
I am about to write an article about chameleons in southern Spain, I hope I can post it on the forums to give more visibility to the amazing work of the people involved in the common chameleon...
wow!congratulation! that chameleon is massive!! are you sure they didn't release Ch. africanus instead of Ch. camaeleon? That female looks twice as big as the common chameleons I saw in Spain (http://i40.tinypic.com/23jkeh.jpg) !

IMO plenty of shade and water is better than keeping the cham indoors, how do you think they thrive in the wild?
that's why I asked if she had somebody who could take care of the cham while she is away! don't worry nobody likes roasted chameleon! :)
no lamps just a lot of plants to make shade, lots of mistings like 4 times a day and a "cat-proof" screen cage. Sorry camimom but I think it's silly to suggest to keep a veiled indoors near the country where veileds and arabicus come from :) !
hey wait a minute!
chameleons live wild in saudi arabia!! just put him outside in a screen cage
throw some fruit near the cage or a bit of meat and plenty of insects will come
don't use any artificial lights use the SUN, the best light there is!!! just give your little cham plenty of water and...
