    Helicopter mom lol

Haha, mine also sleeps clinging upside-down to the top of the cage occasionally... I always feel the need to check on him throughout the night when he does.

    Helicopter mom lol

That's too funny, my girlfriend and I are the same way. Ours is actually going through his second shed since we got him today also. Happy shed day, lol. I post about him on Facebook the same way all my friends post about their kids, haha.

    Helicopter mom lol

Lol, there is nothing wrong with being cautious. My veiled was very similar. He always hid in heavy leaves while he slept at night for a couple of weeks. Around the same time he really started exploring his enclosure (it's huge) he started sleeping more in the open. Now he just sleeps wherever...

oh, how quickly they grow up

I usually get him onto my hand by putting one hand behind him in the cage and one in front, he'll run away from one and right onto the other, lol. Works every time. I always move very slowly and never grab for him. Up until 2 weeks ago, he wasn't eating much, only about 4 or 5 crickets a day...

oh, how quickly they grow up

We try not to handle him too much. He doesn't really like being held. He retreats into his enclosure when I put my hand in there so I have to trick him into running onto my hand, lol. Once he's there, he tolerates me pretty well, but it is obvious he wants to go back to his cage. I always...

oh, how quickly they grow up

This is our boy Ryu. We've had him for a little over a month now and I absolutely can not believe how much he's grown. The composition shot was taken exactly 1 month apart (2.5 months and 3.5 months old). His dad (Driskel at FLChams) is the biggest veiled I've ever seen and with one of the...

what should I expect during shedding?

I had noticed that he was hanging out low in the enclosure so I lowered the temp, his basking spot is 86 now and he seems to like it much better. Yes, I am cup feeding him he does eat out of the cup occasionally but I find that he isn't eating as frequently as I'd expect so I find myself taking...

what should I expect during shedding?

My baby veiled, Ryu, was very dark in color this morning before I left for work and the skin around his mouth and feet was white. I assume he is starting to shed. I've never been through shedding before so I just want to know that to expect, what is normal behavior and what is cause for...

    baby veiled eating invisible food

I've never heard of fungus gnats... that could be the case... I repotted the tree in in organic soil, I suppose they may have been in there... is that something I should be worried about?

    baby veiled eating invisible food

I am currently putting both 1/2 and 1/4 inch crickets in there, both of which escape through the mesh quickly if I let them free range. I will try switching to opaque bowls, good suggestion.

    baby veiled eating invisible food

Hey, I've got a 2 month old male veiled that I've had for about a week now. He appears to be very healthy. He is in a 54" x 24" x 24" enclosure with 1/4" mesh sides and a real ficus, he has a reptisun 10.0 uvb light, and an incandescent heat lamp, as well as a mist king automatic misting...
