    Drainage

Jmwhitel, I like that set up you are using. What is that white drain grid and where did you get it from? I've been looking for something just like that for a while and couldn't find it. Katrinaa, have you looked into Drainage sticky at the top of the enclosures page? There are some...

    Abnormal Urates

Thank you for the reply, he has always been a shy drinker. I've only ever caught him drinking a couple of times. I'm not sure if he has been drinking more than normal. There hadn't been really any change the moisture levels the enclosure though. I got a picture of it on my lunch break though...

My first cham! So many surprises...

Hey there and congrats on your new cham! :) I would recommend ditching the red bulb. If you are able to you may want to try getting him into something just a little bit bigger on the width and depth. For a full grown veiled the minimum recommended is 24"x24"x48". What are your temp and...

    Set up stuff...

Sounds like a good setup to me :) I've tried bamboo before, and my veiled hated it. He couldn't get a grip on the smooth surface. He held tight to it and wouldn't move until I gave him my hand to step onto. It may work better if you sanded it so that it was a rougher surface as suggested above.

    Abnormal Urates

Hey there, this morning my male veiled (almost 5 mo old) had an unusally large bowel movement. The feces was much larger than normal, other than that it looked perfectly normal. It was well formed with normal color and such. The urates however looked abnormal. It was very watery. It was...

    Enclosure Widths

Oh, I didn't notice that you linked the post about the glass enclosures, that was the one I was referring to, lol.

    Enclosure Widths

be careful using glass on your enclosure. there seems to be debate between different people on this forum regarding it but (I have no personal experience with glass enclosures) for chams, seeing their own reflection really stresses them out and can shorten their life expectancy, also you need...

Melissa had just reached 2.5 feet!

I could be mistaken, but I feel as if some people are missing the hyperbole that seemed to have been intended from the OP

    Enclosure Widths

the 2'x2'x4' is so common becuase it meets the minimum recommendations without being a huge hassle for space. Beyond that size you either have to build it yourself or special order one. If you don't mind building it yourself by all means bigger is better :D I'm actually about to build one that...

any danger in feeding larger crickets?

Yeah, it's definitely worth it. It saves time, money, and effort. You won't be disappointed. Neither will your cham, lol.

    repti fogger advice/info please!

Okay, I'm going to barrage you with questions, lol. What size is the enclosure? what type of plants? What is the temp in the enclosure? and what are you using as a hygrometer? I personally prefer a good mist system to a fogger, If you have a bit of money to spend on it you can get the Mist...

any danger in feeding larger crickets?

If I were you, I would consider purchasing from an online cricket farm, Gann's Crickets is a great one. you can buy much larger quantities at a much better price and they are healthier and live a lot longer. Additionally you can specify the size you want, for that age you may want to consider...

any danger in feeding larger crickets?

the general rule is that it shouldn't be wider than the space between his eyes. feeding items that are too large can carry a risk of impaction. If he ate it with no problems, I'd just keep an eye on him to make sure that he has regular bowel movements and that you don't see any signs of...

    do chameleons yawn?

I'm sitting in my Chams room reading near his cage right now, I looked up to see what he was doing and he did something that looked exactly like yawning. He tilted his head back slightly, opened his mouth as wide as it would go for a second, and then closed it. I've never seen him do this...

    Recent photos of Leon

Ramona is gorgeous! :) she's also a couple of months younger than Leon is. 6-8 months is a key growing period. I'm personality not a huge fan of the flukers gut load. I use bug burger in addition to other items like kale, Apple, collards and such. I'm also curious as to the gut load Leon gets...
