Gravid veiled (I think) doesn't want to lay eggs.

Can't tell either, and the other x-ray we took was even worse. Let me embed them here, maybe you can see a bit better. I don't know what they are meant to look

Gravid veiled (I think) doesn't want to lay eggs.

I see, somehow the vet told me that he didn't want to give him too many shots of oxytocin, as it was not good. To be honest I'm not very convinced on the surgery approach, especially now after reading your comments. The chameleon is still very active and today she ate 3 worms, so it might not...

Gravid veiled (I think) doesn't want to lay eggs.

Back from the vet. She indeed has eggs and many of them. We have given her a shot of calcium and of oxytocin. Hopefully she will lay the eggs now. The vet says that if she doesn't lay the eggs for tomorrow we should consider surgery... Has anyone gone through this kind of surgery? Also, what...

Gravid veiled (I think) doesn't want to lay eggs.

Thanks jannb, that's very helpful! Do they also try to get out all the time from their laying bin? Do they look very stressed in the container at first? Mine has been there for 2 hours and the only thing she's done is try to climb out, obviously the walls are too high and she can't, but she is...

Gravid veiled (I think) doesn't want to lay eggs.

Nothing, she is very restless in the laying bin and just wants to climb out, she doesn't care much about the sand. I'm taking her to the vet.

Gravid veiled (I think) doesn't want to lay eggs.

I will try today, I have already put her in that kind of rubbish bin but with soil, she didn't quite like it. I will try adding sand. Thanks for the advice! I'm going to buy some sand today, see if that helps. The reason I used soil is because that's what the shop where I bought her from uses...

Gravid veiled (I think) doesn't want to lay eggs.

Thanks buddy! It seems we are both in a similar situation indeed, but yours has been showing symptoms for two weeks? That's quite a lot, I hope mine is done much before that. Aren't you afraid she might become egg bound after all this time? I've tried another laying bin today but she just sits...

Gravid veiled (I think) doesn't want to lay eggs.

Thanks for the feedback jaanb! This is our first time for both, the chameleon and myself dealing with eggs and after reading all the horrible things that can happen I'm so worried! I am keeping an eye day and night, the webcam I've installed is very handy to see what's going on at all times...

Gravid veiled (I think) doesn't want to lay eggs.

Thanks Kath. I have tried a deeper bin but she is having none of it. For now she keeps running around the bottom of the cage pretending to dig. Hope you are right and it's just early days. Fingers crossed!

Too bad nobody has been able to help. I'll see if I can figure this out by myself then.

Don't know why the attached pics have rotated, sorry about that.... I have embedded the pics into the post now.

Gravid veiled (I think) doesn't want to lay eggs.

Hello there! My female veiled has been showing all the gravid symptoms for the last 3 days, restless, spending lot of time in the bottom of the cage and barely stopped eating. She is also very fat. I should point out that she is a "virgin" and therefore the eggs won't be fertile. She has two...

White stuff around the nostrils (with clear pics) and brown colour

Thank you so much! I'm so glad to see that healthwise he is fine. I was told that he was two months when I got him but I have no proof, so he could easily be 4 months indeed for all I know... Not a big deal anyway. Thanks again

Translucent chameleon? I've only seen your reply now, sorry. Not sure if anyone will be able to see this message now... This is the first time I hear this "translucent" thing. I searched a bit online and I think you might be right guys. He might have that condition, especially in his toes. The...

What a relief! Thanks so much! As long as he is healthy, he can stay brown if he wants! :)

Hello there, I have just purchased a 2 month old male veiled. He has only been with me for 3 days. He is currently in a 20x20x32 glass cage until he grows a bit, he will then be moved to a screen 24x24x48 enclosure. The overall temperature is 75 and the basking area goes up to 80. He is...

At what age shall I move my female veiled to a larger enclosure?

Yes, she will have access to all of that. I might do the transition this weekend then. I was worried about her getting lost in new one. Thanks!

At what age shall I move my female veiled to a larger enclosure?

I have a 7 or 8 month (maybe even older) female veiled. At least I think that's the age, I got the feeling I was told the wrong age when I bought her. She is around 5 inches without the tail. Anyway, she is currently in a 24x16x24 cage and she seems very happy about it. She has plenty of space...

Is my female veiled ready to lay eggs? No symptoms but very fat

Never heard of that either... It's so strange. I just hope she is fine. I've been reading so much scary stuff about the eggs... She hasn't pooped in the last 2 days, so I can't really tell what the latest is. Does anyone know if they are meant to poop every day? She used to do it every day at...
