    Soft Casque

Usually soft and curved casques are early signs of mbd. What is his supplementation schedule? But when it moves around so much it could be a fracture? Best would be to seek a vet's opinion.

    feeling discontent.

Bad choice also... Learn from your Chams and stay single! They look stunning and colorful and are at peace with themselves and the world.

    Free range or cup feeding?

I am a big fan of free range and hand feeding. All the big yummy feeders like roaches, worms, locust go onto (and sometimes around) the hand. All the yucky ones like crickets are released. As Johnny909 said, the tilting method works quite well. I tilt my cup at the lower part of the cage...

What are these white specks all over my veiled?

Congrats and welcome to the forum then. It was a wise decision to come here. Chameleons are not the easiest pet and even if you think you know everything, you are pretty stressed at first. There are some great husbandry care sheets here in the resources section.

    Hello!/Am I ready?

Very nice colors for the start and welcome to the forum. Maybe more climbing opportunities in form of natural or artificial vines. And a sturdy basking spot. From my experience the more vines in the cage the less likely they climb the mesh (and might damage a claw). How do you handle drainage?

Can you mix calcium powder with water?

Yes. Can do. But I would be more worried about your little guy not eating in a week. When they are that small they should be eating a lot daily. Can you please fill out the help form?

    Colours

I personally use passion flower. They have beautiful purple flowers which open to the size of a palm. They also provide great climbing opportunities for your Cham as they are fast growing vines. Orchids also work well as well as the classic: Hibiscus.

    Help!!

Didn't see the pictures before my post. So forget about most of my comments. Listen to the ferret. She is a vet. And you should consult one asap.

    Help!!

I would suggest to take her out of the cage immediately as it seems to be counterproductive at this point to leave her inside at all. She might feel like being in a hot shower for too long. Veiled are semi-arid reptiles, so they require far less humidity, yet very good ventilation as arboreal...

    Veiled Chameleon acting strange

At a glance your setup sounds ok. I personally think that 10.0 UVB is way too strong. I am not sure about your foliage, but from the close up it looks like your enclosure is not too dense. 10.0 might irritate her eyes especially if she has no way to hide. Your humidity is rather high. Veiled...

    Tribute to Luie

I don't know what to say... First Padre, now Luie. Luie was an amazing animal. He benefitted and thrived under your care. You are a great and inspirational, dedicated Chameleon keeper and your pets have given proof of that. Yet it still hurts even more when they have to go.

    Another stinkin substrate Q

A lot of us here use the whole bottom covered in dirt to create a better ground condition for the plants as well as for the natural look. It is just a bit more troublesome in terms of cleaning. What I have done to all my cages is to have planted a tree as well as some smaller broadleaves, pothos...

    Depressed?

Don't want to disappoint you but I think you miss him more than he misses you. Our domestic enclosures are usually quite small compared to their natural environments. So the most he might be looking for is roaming a larger territory and some additional exercise. I love my reptiles too and feel...

Black spots on my juvenile panther chameleon

Going to the Vet asap is your best bet right now. Sorry your Cham is not well. It does look severe. From the picture I am not sure about the mouthrot. It could be a kind of fungal infection as well. But I am no expert nor a vet. Does its mouth have a bad odor when you smell it?

    what chameleon should i get

I wouldn't necessarily say it is a personal choice for the start of chameleon keeping. It is rather the choice of the hardiest species and wether they are cb. As a starter chameleon a captive bred veiled or panther is a good choice as they can be more forgiving on beginner's husbandry...

    Trimming Jackson Horns

There is a fair amount of blood inside the horns. They are not like rhino or elephant horns. Again, they do have blood vessels inside. They are very fragile too. The animal can seriously suffer blood loss and possibly die.

    Ficus Benjamina or Schefflera Arboricola?

Schefflera is coping better than ficus with lower lighting levels and indirect lighting.

little advise about my ficus benjamina (weeping fig)

Ficus can be difficult when the general humidity is rather low - or when it has wet feet. As you mist 5 times a day I would skip the watering once a week for a while. If you must each time about 1-2 minutes, the amount of water should be sufficient of the tree. In nature it is kind of an...

    thick and safe branched tree?

Second that. As all plants indoor are close to bonsais, we need some sturdy support. I have hybrid solutions for my setups too. With Ficus I usually weave the trunks when they are younger. Then trim the top branches more regular. The trunk tends to expand when the top branches are clipped...
