Oh, and if you're looking for inspiration, here is my veilds large enclosure (he is in the middle of the picture if you look hard enough):
and this was my panther's 2x2x6 enclosure when he first went in! (he is on the right hand side - I would have preferred to let the enclosure fill out more...
I start all my chameleons off in enclosures that are 2x2x6 and move them into 4x6x8 when they get older (I am currently building a new 4x6x8 for my diego suarez)
The argument for using a small enclosure is it does make it easier to monitor food intake for a young chameleon. However, this is...
Yeah, something like that should work fine! Just give it some light and you should start to see roots growing!
The one in the picture has taken around 3 months and was mainly done as an experiment. It came from a failing side of a much larger plant (which I swear has grown 6 feet since I got...
On this picture (of my cutting growing) I've put the line where I sort of cut the original:
Nothing to it really, just bang it in water for a while and then into soil/compost!
I've got plenty of space to run the bulbs themselves, just concerned that the 'housing' just doesn't seem as 'rugged' as I'd expect and gets pretty warm pretty quickly! I'll probably run a trial bulb outside all day or something so that if it does catch fire, my house won't burn down! Won't cost...
Hi,
Just looking to see if anyone is using halogen light bulbs above their enclosures? I want to use 50W GU10 halogen lightbulbs and am looking at a simple halogen bulb holder hanging above the enclosure.
My main concern is that this will overheat (and quickly) so wanted to see if anyone...
I think it's different here in the UK! The stuff we have access to is so limited (don't get me started on flyscreening...) so I had no idea whether it would or wouldn't work! :D
All good now though!
Thanks guys!
This is the pump I'm looking at: http://www.swelluk.com/aquarium/ro-units-397/pipework-fittings-1581/d-d-ro-booster-pump-247686.html
125psi and 1.2l/m
I'm running 6 nozzles so I guess this would be fine!
Yeah, the mistking pump does look just like it, but I've never had the...
Hi,
I have a spare RO booster pump and wondered if it can be used as a misting pump? It delivers the right pressure, but does it required the water to be supplied to it at pressure? Or would it work like any other misting pump?
Thanks!
I was going to use some root hormone, but I don't really need to grow these scheffs, just felt like giving it a go!
Might give the honey trick a go! Any idea why it works?
Was looking around for information about taking schefflera cuttings, but couldn't find anything particularly helpful, so figured I'd have a bash and try using the method I did when I took a pothos cutting.
Which has turned out pretty well:
So yeah, basically, I had to trim down my...
Could really do with some pictures to help out!!
Drainage would be a good first shout. Choice of plants would be next. Then it would be the lighting.
Give us a picture and we'll be able to give better advice! :D
Yeah, I've been all over dendroboard looking at how to do it. I think it's possible! It should be hellishly good if it works out! Might have a go trialing it this weekend!
Well, i keep bouncing between projects but this one has sort of stuck as something i might do!
Basically, i want to build a fake tree root. Something quite big to fill the back of a large cage. I think something along these lines (apologies that the 2nd pic is massive!):
Anyway, my...
Trying to find the profile in the UK doesn't seem that easy unfortunately and next to impossible to find a 3 way joining piece (I'm lucky when i find a 2 way joint).
I'm sure there must be somewhere in the uk that sells the stuff i need at a good price! Hopefully anyway!
Great looking...
