An important question - New to the community

If you purchase a CB(captive bred) cham, the only bacteria/viruses it will have been introduced to are the ones you allow it to :) that being said, stay away from WC(wild caught) chams as they are more likely to carry infections

    Odd behavior. What is it?

Has there been anything new introduced to his environment? Anything new he can see from his enclosure? It sounds like he is keeping his eye on something. Check to make sure there isn't anything brightly colored in his view, also be wary of mirrors or glass that he may see his reflection in.

    beginner setup enclosure

If you are willing to put in the time to build everything yourself, you can do it for much cheaper. I made my enclosure with redwood 2x2's and 1/4'' hardware cloth and its perfectly fine. A lot more sturdy than diy enclosures sold online and for half the cost. That being said, you need to have...

    Cup Feeding Questions

Hey everyone! Im making an enclosure with 1/4'' hardware cloth for the sides&top. Im worried that my feeders will be able to escape too easily, so Ill probably be cup feeding while the feeders are still small. Ill be mostly feeding crickets and dubias and was wondering how tall the cup would...

Just keep feeding and hydrating them and babies will show up. The one male can mate with all of the females but it will take a while. If you dont want babies, remove the male ASAP

    ? about eating live plants..

Veileds' natural environment can undergo dry seasons in which the chameleon will eat live plants to makeup for the lower amount of insects and water. So it is more common (especially among the veileds) to eat plants than most people think. Giving the cham some vegetables to eat, you can even...

    first time chameleon owner!!

Well congrats on purchasing one of the coolest animals on the planet! I'll be the guy who gives you the positive reinforcement :) I understand how difficult it can be to gather the necessary equipment to keep a chameleon simply because their requirements are so unique. Also because between bills...

    Dubia vs Cricket

As an entemology lover, I dont see the huge fuss over keeping dubias in the house. Of the plethora of roach species, only around 30 or so are concidered to be "pests." Dubias that you purchase, unlike the roaches you find coming out of you sink, will not have been influenced to pathogens or...

Is my living situation right for a Chameleon?

So as to the age of the cham i should be looking to purchase... I want it to be old enough to be healthy and strong yet young enough to start taming. Is there a happy medium here?

Is my living situation right for a Chameleon?

Would I be better off with a panther? Some say that they are a little more mellow than the veileds. Are they just as easy to care for? Some say veiled is the hardiest, are panthers significantly less hardy? And am i correct in assuming that a male would be better for a beginner?

Is my living situation right for a Chameleon?

Hello everyone, in case is wasnt made apparent by the title, I am a newb to chameleons. My experience with reptiles is quite lackluster having only owned a leopard gecko and a kingsnake, my girlfriend (who i live with) has owned bearded dragons and kingsnakes as well. I have been interested in...
