Can u post a pic of the whole cage? Chameleons like to sit up high, so I think a taller schefflera would really help him feel more secure.

I would lower them. You need way more plants in there, he could get really stressed if there's no where to hide. Walmart and Home Depot have cheap plants. I would go get a schefflera to put in there.

I just did a quick google search and came across a tortoise forum where everyone said they use Pachira aquatica for their enclosures and they said that it is non toxic. Didnt know if you had already came across that or not. I can link it if you want.
