    Chameleon biting fake vines

I dust with calcium for his morning feed amd that's the only time I can get him to eat anything that's dusted. I gut load all of my feeders with fluckers dry gut load and give veggies for water. The only thing is right now I only have a compact UVB bulb. He can get within six inches and he often...

    Butterworm

Hmm...you guys are starting to turn me on to roaches. Can they not breed out if the cage because of heat issues? What's the smallest size bin you can use? I would like to be able to put the cage in a larger bin to prevent any escapes. I really hope my Cham isn't allergic to butterworms. Once...

    Chameleon biting fake vines

Right before I went to mist my 10 week old panther he decided to bend his head down and bite one of his fake vines. He didn't injest anything, but this is the second time I've seen him do this. Could it be from lack of giving a multivitamin? I would rather vary his diet and take him outside on...

    Nutritional Value of Insects

Also what are these percents based on? If you add up the % a lot of them are over 100 which is impossible  You can't be 50% water and 70% protein that's 120% I don't know maybe I'm reading into this to much.

    Butterworm

It's not so much the flying or biting. It's the, "if one of these escapes it's going to be alive on my house for the next 6 months" crickets escape and live for a week or so. Still, I don't like crickets but I do plan on getting a couple dozen a every week to add in to his diet. So right now I'm...

    Butterworm

Roaches are a no go. No way no how. :) When I say [I]stable[I] I don't mean 100% of his diet. Are silk worms more of a treat then? From what I have found says butters are about 5% fat and silkies are about 10% fat. Also I thought supers were ok as part of a diet as long as they are gut loaded.

    Butterworm

I really DON'T want to feed my panther a staple of crickets. They escape, are hard to catch, and smell..you all know! I see that a lot of people like to feed silkworms as a staple. I don't have the time to raise silks and I am willing to pay the extra few dollars to use butterworms. Seeing...

    Red or Blue bar Ambliobe

At what age were you able to tell if you had a blue bar or red bar ambilobe panther? For that matter, when it comes to genetics which is the dominate trait? My little guy has some blue toward the middle and almost black at the top. He is only 10 weeks though.

    Black soldier fly larvae

What are your thought about using black soldier fly larvae as part of a staple with butterworms, and superworms for a panther chameleon diet.

    10 week size?

It's from snout to tail tip :) I've had him home for 3 weeks ( 7 weeks old) he was 3.5 in from snout to tail tip then. He's already showing a lot of really bright greens/ whites and lots of red spots on his belly, also just starting with yellow :) this is my first panther chameleon, can you tell...

    10 week size?

So my ambilobe chameleon is now 10 weeks old and is about 8 1/2 inches from nose to tail. Is that normal? It just seems a little small to me.

Here's my ambilobe sired by Maximus. He's 9 weeks old and still no name!

    Importing

I was just wonder what your guys thoughts were on importing chameleons. Isn't there enough genetic variation the the captive population to negate any genetic defects caused by having similar genes? It seems pretty traumatic for these animals to be taken out of their natural environment and then...

    My Cham

I have posted this pic on the general disscusion fourm but not for this reason. My little guy is 8 weeks old and showing some color. Does this mean he's going to be a briht chameleon? Here he is sleeping...

    Need a name :)

I like whisper but I am hoping that since he is only 8 weeks old that his colors will be much more intense.

    At what age???

I'm pretty sure size is much more important than age when feeding chameleons. Don't feed anything wider than the with of his head. I hope that helps!

New potential owner looking for suggestions advice etc.

You really should consider buying from the classifieds on here. I myself was very nervous at fist about having a live animal shipped. My little guy came out and starting eating immediately. The prices are much better and you get a better quality pet. Just my opinion :D

    Need a name :)

I've had my male ambilobe panther for 2 weeks now and I still can't think of a name.. I'm usually pretty good at picking out names but this guy has me stumped! :D I attached a picture of him sleeping, maybe that will help :) any ideas are very much appreciated...

    Chameleon genetics

I just need to sit back and wait. I have yet to see a panther that I thought looked boring. I am a big fan of ambilobes with a white crest. The sire of my guy had a ton of white so I am hoping he will have some himself. Genetics have always fascinated me. Who knows, maybe this is just the start...

    Tell me what you think

Once I moved him I was thinking about trying a 100W power sun UV/Heat combo. I'm assuming that if it's far enough away from the cage the heat shouldn't be a problem. Is the UV they put out to intense? I almost forgot to say thank you for the complements! I'm really looking forward to his bigger...
