To me they are both pretty easy (all the lights and misting is automated), but then again I am disabled and home pretty much all the time. Fruit Flies are a pain in the butt.
I have several colonies of roaches for the chameleons. (2 Dubia Colonies, 2 Lateralis Colonies, 10 to 20 Fruit Fly...
I totally agree LLLReptiles is one of my favorite supply companies on the net they are great and have an amazing selection. Big Apple Herpetological is also a very good company (I haven't ordered from them in the last year or so, but service was great).
As a general rule I don't feed any hard shell bugs bigger than the width of the chameleons mouth. That being said Dubias range from 1/8 inch to about 1.5 inch. So unless your chameleon is super small it should be fine, my Veiled has been eating them since she was only like 3 or 4 inches long...
You might have Mealworms if they are pupating on you at that size. If you have a camera and can post an image we could confirm that.
Superworms don't usually pupate till close to 2 inches and then only if they are separated from each other.
Also used the HD Video Function of the camera to film this.

Unfortunately my other chameleons are very camera shy hopefully they will start eating for the camera.
So, I Finally had time to go outside and play with my new Camera today (a Nikon 5100).
Got some really nice pictures of Link my Ambilobe Panther.
Here are 2 of my favorites that I took today. (I will upload more to a blog later just need to resize them since they are all currently 4928 X 3264)...
If they are thin and move easily if you blow on them they are exoskeletons. If they are thick and don't move much when blown on they are bodies :(.
If you have a balloon around you can charge it with static electricity and pickup the shed exoskeletons as well (Little kids are easily amused with...
I was looking into getting new Fruit Fly colonies (mine got invaded by flying ones :()
Is the care of Hydei the same as Melanogaster (which is what I've been using)?
Do they have similar life cycle lengths?
Is there an advantage to one over the other?
Thanks all
Dubias I do the same as JohnnyD.
For my Turks I shake out all the roaches move everything to one side clean the other side with a moist paper-towel. Then replace the egg crates and the roaches run for cover (I ussually wait an hour and most will have left the messed area). After that I just...
Here are some of the tips I use for my colonies....
Feed them fresh veggies (Carrots, Romain lettuce, oranges), plus a high quality dried grain (I use Cricket Food as my dry food).
Make sure they have access to temperatures from 75 to 95 degrees.
Have plenty of room (but not to much) egg...
I was expecting a hung jury after a week, for them to come back in less than 24 hours with that verdict is ridiculous. Its a shame that the judge didn't declare a mistrial when Casey's mom lied on the stand about the Chloroform searches.
Link(male) and Peach(female) are my Panthers (Ambilobe)
Karma(female) My Veiled (single allele Translucent), Not sure what my Sisters Male Veiled (Translucent)is named.
