I put a refuse bag over the front of my new arrivals for the first couple days to reduce stress (just as you would a gravid female ready to drop her eggs).
It takes 20-30 to produce babies, it isn't hard to keep and raise them. The link below is to a post I did that covers setup and feeding for a feeder colony.

Does anyone have experience with Yellow Tree Monitors (Varanus melinus)?
Or know of a good forum to ask about them?
My question is how much food should be offered, and how often for a small monitor (about a foot in length)?
With a scoop?
I ussually push all the junk(skins and poo) to one side of the tub then put all the hiding on the other side, then wait a couple hours (so the cricket clear out of the junk) then scoop out the junk.
The main difference is terrariums aren't designed to hold/support water (thinner glass), just a bit of dirt.
A 10 gallon tank can house about 1000 crickets fairly easily. As long as you clean it well a couple times a week, and have enough egg crates or paper towel rolls.
I don't shower my chameleons unless they are super dehydrated (almost never), I do heat the misting system every-once in a while (to just above room temperature).
:( this was the best image I got out of the camera. Can't wait till I get my new one (hopefully next month)
The females tail looks a bit long in the image, she is about 1/4 to 1/2 inch longer than the male and wasn't happy about getting her picture.
Males have longer and thinner tails (probably to help with mating, better leverage ;)) , Females shorter stubbier tails.
Its real easy to see the difference side by side. (trying to get good pictures of mine darn cameras sucks)
They need to be kept separate in huge cages (as they grow- Adults need like 8 feet long X 2 Feet Deep X 8 feet tall and well planted). They are really hard to sex so you may end up with all males :(.
Most Mellers are WC (here in the states at least).
I totally missed that when I saw that image the other day, good catch.
Paper towel and toilet paper rolls (all my friends and family save them for me) or even just folded card board work good if you don't have access to paper egg crates.
If the plants you have need a separate light you can go to Walmart and pickup a cheap Grow Light (provides UVA for plants) for less than $10 (with a fixture), can't remember the price for sure (receipt disappeared lol).
