    Need help transferring crickets!

The crickets I ordered in the mail came today, and now I just need to put them into my cricket keepers (I have two). The crickets are loose in a box with some cardboard, and I have no idea how to get them into the keepers without them getting everywhere! Please help, any suggestions are welcome!

    Panther Feeding Schedule

My panther is about 7 months old and I am looking at expanding his diet. Right now he is eating about 20 crickets daily, and the occasional mealworm or two. He does not seem to get bored of them at all, but I want to add in silkworms and dubia roaches. Does anybody have a weekly schedule they...

male panther hanging around bottom of cage

I have a panther about the same age, and I have seen him do this a couple times as well. Sometimes he will even just walk around the bottom scanning around, especially when the bottom of the cage is wet. I am not sure why they do this, maybe to cool off or maybe just out of curiosity. But I...

Thanks so much! How do you store roaches? Does it depend on the type you get?

    Buying Crickets Online

I am looking online to buy my crickets and silkworms in bulk, and I wanted to see if anybody had any suggestions for a good site to buy from that isn't too expensive. I was also wondering how many crickets I should buy at a time to avoid them dying before I can give them to my chameleon. My cham...

    pascal is looking chubby!

Everything looks pretty good! I would definitely add several horizontal branches throughout the cage though as well. I used thumbtacks on the outside of the cage to hold mine in place. This will give him a good spot to bask under the light (about 8 inches below the light).

    Mutiple Questions from a Newbie

You can use potted plants and put rocks over the dirt. Hand misting is fine as long as you can do it at least 3-4 times a day. I suggest also buying a Little Dripper (5-10 dollars). You will need somewhere for the water to go so it doesn't just pool up and overflow at the bottom. There are a lot...

    Larger crickets?

Do you give him any other feeders? He would probably be fine moving up to larger crickets, but waiting a few months might be best just to play it safe. It sounds like you are going through crickets like crazy though, so you could try to give him 15-20 crickets and one or two mealworms or...

    Looking To get A Chameleon

I ordered him from snakesatsunset.com. Their prices were pretty good, and I found an online coupon for free shipping (which is overnight shipping). I have no idea how to build a mister, I purchased an automatic one originally (the Monsoon I think it was called) but it was too loud so I returned...

    Looking To get A Chameleon

Yes, the panthers do tend to be less aggressive but they are usually a bit pricier, and harder to find in local pet shops (in my experience). The veileds are typically the most aggressive, but every chameleon can vary. I ordered my panther online and he is extremely friendly. I think the...

    Baby Panther Normal Behavior

Congratulations! Offer him food, but it is normal if he doesn't eat right away. I would also avoid handling him for a while. When I got mine (also a panther at about 3 months), I started offering my hand to him after the third day of having him, and it took about 2 weeks until he felt...

    Strange behavior?

I noticed today that my panther was walking around the bottom of his cage where the water from the dripper was landing. He was walking around with his nose pressed to the bottom of the cage where it was wet. I thought at first he was drinking the water, but his mouth stayed shut. I don't have a...

    Sick Chameleon? Maybe?

It is good that she is drinking water, I would try several other types of feeders (silkworms, hornworms, there are lots of options). Maybe she is just picky. If nothing else works, you could do some research on force feeding your chameleon because she needs to get some nutrition no matter what.

    How many crickets per day??

I have had my six month old panther for almost three months, and I have been feeding him about 15-20 medium crickets a day. He also gets a meal worm every few days. I've noticed lately that he eats all of his crickets immediately in the morning, and then goes around his cage looking for more...

    poop!!!!!

Sounds like she's on a recovery! I am not surprised that her first poop in three weeks did not look great, I would just wait for the next one and see if it is looking more healthy. It could take some time to get back to normal.

What is this on my tree branch?

I would take them all out, wash them really well and put them in the oven for a few hours. You do not want any more fungus growing. Even if you can't see the fungus, there could still be alot of harmful bacteria on the branches.

    handling

Yes, every chameleon is different, especially if they are new to you and their cage. If he is not getting aggressive when you offer your hand, that is a good sign. If it stresses him out however, then don't try it as often. Also, when he does come out, make sure to either bring him to a window...
