I just viewed a couple pictures of someone's veild at 2 and 4 months old. I know every cham is different but her cham looked so green, colorful and healthy and now, well.. I'm worried about my cham.
I bought my male cham 2 weeks ago. The pet store I bought him from said he's approx 2-3...
Very beautiful!! You have me kind of worried though. I just recently bought a veild (a male). The pet store I bought him from said he's approx 2-3 months old and he's much smaller than yours. The point on his head (sry I dont' know the technical name for it) is no where near the size of yours...
My cham is 4-5 months old. We have no basement.
He has never been housed outside before. He does have a secure cage and I'm positive nothing could get into it, unless a human of course.
I received a text from my boyfriend. He was in a hurry to get to work and decided to put him outside on the...
The power at my house is currently out  which obviously means no lights for my cham.
I am at work and my boyfriend will be leaving for work shortly.
We live in Florida. The temp is/will be in the low 90's today with humidity.
Is it safe to put him outside on the front porch? He will...
Thank you :) I am so fortuante I have found this site. Everyone has been so helpful!!
I bought a live plant yesterday at home depot, re-potted it with organic soil and placed large rocks over the soil. It is now in his cage. He hasn't had much to do with it but I'm hoping he'll venture out...
The reptile pet store had it however they are SOOOO overpriced! I think I'll order it from the LLLReptiles website.
Do you think my cham will be okay with the light I have now until it arrives?
I'm pretty sure the reptile store I bought my cham from has the exact bulbs I'm looking for (I am calling them now). I was just hoping a store closer to home carried them.
I live in Gainesvile, by the way.
Immediate answers would be greatly appreciated as I am about to get off work and head out to find the appropriate light.
I called my local Petco store looking for a UVB 5.0 bulb (18 inch to fit a 20 inch hood) They said they had a Zilla 18 inch T-8 25 UVB bulb but it didn't mention anything...
Agreed. The health of my cham is definitely more important than the appearance of my cage. I just assumed there had to be something safe out here.
Thanks for your input! The bedding is coming out this afternoon : )
I have been informed by another member that the bedding I have in my cham's cage could be harmful to him.
*I attatched a picture to get an idea of what bedding I currently have. Forgive me, I am not at home and do not know the specific name*
It was suggested that I have no bedding at all...
You are awesome! Thank you so much for these links and information. I understand now and it's great to have visuals of what I need.
*edit to add* on that website (LLLReptile) which thermometer/humidifer indicator would you reccomend??
I turn my lights on around 7am and turn them off...
okay so 2 different fixtures: one with a basking bulb (and the basking bulb I have now is fine?) The other fixture for a 5.0 floresent bulb?
Yes, the UVB bulb I have now is spiral and screws in like a regular bulb.
If I find a 5.0 UVB bulb that will fit the fixture I have now could I still...
Is it something she didn't like at first but grew to love it?
It was almost as if he were cold this morning after we misted him. I'm afraid to do it again in fear of hurting him.
Oh and another thing. I found out that our cham is approx. 3-4 months old. Is there anything I should be doing different being that he is so young?
At what age do they start shedding?
I greatly appreciate your input and will work on making the needed changes.
We misted the cage for the first time this morning our cham got misted in the process which I didn't think would harm him, however, he didn't seem to like it at all. He hurried to the top branch closest to the light...
