I have a 2-3 month old male veiled and I'm introducing hand feeding to him tomorrow. What is the most beneficial type of worm I can offer him?
My local pet store carries silk, horn, meal and super worms.
Yeah, I give him credit.. he's pretty smart. He knows now that if he hisses at me I'll leave him alone... but not anymore. I'm going to try to start slowly handling him more. Sooner or later he'll learn that I'm not a threat and who knows, he may even learn to like being held ;)
I'm going to...
Thank you for those links. I found both of them to have helpful information.
I have class tonight so I will try to introduce hand feeding tomorrow and see if that gets us pointed into the right direction.
That is what I'm worried about. If at some point I don't force him to be held then he won't get accustom to it and more than likely he won't tolerate it at all, ever.
The second time I held him he did climb up onto my shoulder then onto my hair.
Honestly, I haven't thoroughly cleaned out his...
His poops like normal and he's still eating. I'm really confused to why he is keeping his mouth open sometimes. At first I thought it was because he was too hot, however, I switched UVB lights last night and completely removed his basking light.
I checked on him around 10pm (when the light was...
Just out of curiousity, did your cham like to be held as a baby? If not, did he/she get used to the idea and eventually like to be held?
I had what I thought was a 3-4 month old male veiled. Some members on the site, by looking at his pics, thinks he could be younger, like 2-3 months old. I...
I set up my new Repti SUn UVB 5.0 bulb last night. I ended up taking the basking light completely away, to see how he would do w/out it. Last night while he was sleeping I peeked into his cage to check on him... his mouth was cracked open. Not completely open, just a little bit. What the heck...
Hmmm... could this explain why sometimes he has his mouth open for no apparent reason? My temp and humidity gauges should be here any day now. I'll have to check the temps for certain. In the meantime I do you think it would hurt to go ahead and switch the 50w bulb for a 15 or 25w?
I have checked out your blog. Until now I thought the stuff I had was sufficient enough. I guess that's what I get for trusting the pet store ::rolls eyes::  Unfortuantly I have already used the calcium plus the pet store sold me so I can't return it.
I have just ordered the 13th, 15th...
I'm assuming that the bottle I have is your typical calcium without D3. I could be wrong though? It is what the petstore reccomended with every feeding
Attatched is a picture of the bottle of calcium plus (plus the lights and gutloading food for the crickets). Is this specfic calcium (without...
Right now all I have is calcium plus, which I am dusting the crickets everyday. So the only other 'dusters' I need is calcium with D3 (twice a month) and a mult vitamin (once a month). I've had him only 2 weeks so I guess it's time for the calcium with D3.
I will start gutloading the crickets...
I probably should have just bought a temp and humidity gauge in the store but they were so much cheaper online. I was trying to save money
He has not shed with me yet. How early do they usually shed? As one member has mentioned he could be younger than 3 months old.
I have learned my lesson. When I misted him I stressed him out and pissed him off. I will not do it again. I will look into getting a misting system.
As for his color- I shouldn't worry if he he isn't colorful?
