    Are plastic plants ok??

Repot your new plants with organic dirt or that coco fiber stuff you can get at the pet store. Wash all the leafs with mild dish soap. I use dawn. I hqve never had flies in my enclosures and am pretty sure this is why.

    Help please!

Too much d3, should only be given 2 times a month. You need to get calcium without d3 to dust with at every feeding. Also use a multivitamin 2 times a month. Almost looks as though/ sounds he is overdosed on d3.thats where I would start. Also looks like an infection in his eye, might try to give...

    ExoTerra Monsoon mister??

It's not if you have problems it's when you have problems. Had a monsoon for 3 weeks before it filled the electronics with water, and the replacment lasted 2 months before it did the same thing. Have been running a mistking for about 5 years without a single problem. Monsoons are junk and for a...

    lighting for a 33"X33"X55"

Yes Todd is great, he just told me through email this morning I was planning on too much light. 8 4ft T5's was a bit overkill :D right now I have a 2x2x4 and run 6 t5 on it 1 12% uvb and the rest 6500k plants and cham are doing great.

    Cham not using the UVB

I dont give mine a choice, my uvb runs the length of the cage. Only way he can get out of it is to get under the leaves of his tree or pothos.

What do I use on the bottom of my veiled chameleon cage?

Reptile carpet can harbor bacteria espically if it sits flat on the ground with no air space on the bottom. I use built in drain trays in my custom cages and on top of the drain pan is a plastic grid and on top of the plastic grid is filter fabric. The filter fabric is that black fabric you use...

    Ready to breed!!

Yeah, she does look small to be breeding. I know the general rule is 1 year but if a 1 year old is a small 1 year old I'd probably wait another 6 months to let her gain some weight.

    lack of info

I refuse to go into the big box pet stores for this very reason. They keep their chams in small glass cages. I was there once and the employee told yhis couple to keep a dish of water in with the cham and maybe mist his cage twice a week if they thought about it. I had to say something and told...

    Basking light vs Heat Pad

    Basking light vs Heat Pad

Heating pads are worthless in a chameleon cage. The spend all their time at the top. Mine ventures down toward the bottom exploring a couple times a day or if he is chasing crickets or roaches, 99% of the time is is on the vines 8 inches from the top. At night he goes into his tree about midway...
