    Ling's free range

Well, Ling's free ranging seems to be taking over my bedroom, one plant at a time. I've got a couple things to pick up this week, like a 24" linear fixture for the reptisun. Right now he basks and receives UVB from a MV bulb, which seems to be working well with him, but I want him to also have...

    Light Fixture

Awesome, thanks for sharing the link. I'll hit up Walmart tomorrow and see if I can find it.

    Cup o crickets??

My veiled took to cup feeding quite easily, but my little panther took about a week before he fully adjusted. Once they get used to it, whether it takes two days or two weeks, they will sit by the cup when they're hungry and get really excited when you get ready to fill. At least mine do!

    Light Fixture

You're right, they do have a 48" with a cord, but no 24". I talked to the guy in electrical today, and he did show me that 48", but that was it.

    New to Chameleons.

If you use a wire cage you'll have to cup feed. Otherwise you'll have crickets all over the place. It might take a baby a couple days to adjust to eating out of a cup. Cup feeding will be safer for him, as well - less chance of injuring his tongue on the bars or missing the cricket and hitting...

    Zilla hood no good?

There's absolutely nothing wrong with the fixture itself - and I doubt that the 5.0 linear bulb that's included with it is solely responsible for any problems with chams kept under it. If you're worried about it, keep the fixture but replace the bulb with a 5.0 reptisun. I've used this...

    Light Fixture

I've currently been looking for the same thing - 24" 2 bulb t8 fixture. Home Depot and Lowe's do sell them, but they don't sell anything that can just plug in or with an on/off switch. Everything from those two stores has to be hardwired and turned on with a light switch. They're cheap, under...

    Is this plant safe?

Can anyone tell me if this plant is safe for my chams? I bought it for $7 at Lowe's today, tag says it's 'Cordyline glauca' or Green Ti Plant. I can only find info on Cordyline terminalis, which is similar, and it looks like it does have a minor toxin. Ling has started munching on everything...

    Gettin' so BIG!

Thank you :D It's hard to tell from the picture, but it's two balls. My male & female. Both were rescues that I "accidentally adopted". You work at a pet store and you soon become a zoo!

    Gettin' so BIG!

Some recent photos of Ling (veiled) and Huxley (panther). And their roommates, Jobe and Eliza (balls). Hux is right around 4 months, and Ling is about 8 (a guess, I'm not sure how old he was when I bought him).

Help! Panther "threw up" his crickets, now isn't eating

Good news! He's eating again, and keeping it all down so far. Drinking and waiting for more crickets :) Even so, I will still have the fecal done. Just in case there's an underlying problem. He's doing great, however. Eating everything he can catch.

Help! Panther "threw up" his crickets, now isn't eating

A little off topic, but since his picture is in this thread, does he look like a boy or girl to you guys? I asked this about two months ago, and I got as many girl and boy opinions. He's almost twice the size he was last time I asked. What do you guys think? Girl or boy? His tail is getting...

Help! Panther "threw up" his crickets, now isn't eating

I'm feeding him medium sized crickets. Occasionally a large one gets mixed in though. He's moved up from the smalls. I'm ordering some small hornworms and butterworms to fatten him up. He's not too thin, but he could stand to thicken up a little. He is drinking fine, and his back legs are...
