K thanks a lot for your reply, also my humidity is at 40 percent on the bottom of the cage and only 25 percent at the top. I have a humidifier running but it doesnt seem to be working that well. What is an ideal humidity for him. Thanks again.
Thanks and the crickets i feed him are about medium size. They arent really big and i also just got some wax worms yesterday and he ate four yesterday and i gave him one today, is that ok.
I am using 2 hygrometers, one on the bottom of the cage and one up under the heat lamp/basking area. Thanks for the reply and the link its much appreciated.
Do any of you guys think i should get another 20 watt cfl uvb bulb and put it on top of my cage with the other uvb bulb. So i would have 3 bulbs all together, 2 uvb bulbs and 1heat bulb. Would this be a good idea. Thanks
Hey guys my veiled chameleon just got fed 4 crickets a couple hours ago and i just noticed him going to the bottom of his cage and eating a peace of coconut fiber bedding like he would to a cricket. His tongue comes out and he grabs a little peace of the fiber. Why is he doing this? Am i not...
Thanks a lot, i was hoping i would have a boy cuz i know they live longer. Thank you again for helping me out so much its greatly appreciated. I have another question for you, is a 20 watt uvb bulb and a heat lamp good enough lighting for him or should i get a stronger uvb bulb. Thanks
Thanks carol, he seems a lot better today. I am using a 20 watt uvb bulb, its not a heat/uvb bulb, just a uvb bulb. Then on the other side of my cage is where i keep the heat bulb. I dont have the boxes for them but i heard that nothing under a 70 watt uvb bulb should be used and im only using a...
He is a veiled chameleon and im not sure if he is a male or female yet. I have only had him for about 5 days and am using a 20 watt uvb bulb and heat bulb. I was going to get a 70 watt uvb bulb today and replace it with the 20 watt because he basks under the uvb light mostly all day.
I handle...
He is only around 4 to 6 months old now so he is still a juvenile i am pretty sure. When he turns a year would that mean he is an adult. Thanks for the reply.
This is only about the 3rd day i had him but i think i have a pretty good setup for him. There are many things for him to climb on and the humidity and temp are perfect. Thanks for your reply.
Hey guys my veiled is around 6 months old and right now is just laying on its wooden perch with its whole body and head just resting on it. He isnt moving at all, I haven't tried to touch him or anything cuz i dont want to stress him out. His eyes are open and moving around but he is just laying...
He or she is a veiled chameleon about 4 to 6 months old and he ate around 6 or 7 crickets already throughout the day and he would prolly eat more but i heard overfeeding can cause sickness. My question basically is how often and how many crickets should i feed it, thanks. One more thing, i would...
He is a veiled chameleon and about 6 months old and I've read that when chameleons have their eyes closed a lot its not a good thing. I really dont want him to die because he is so cool. So i was wondering if anyone could help. I spray calcium stuff on my crickets every other day and i feed him...
