it won't hurt them if they eat it at a certain spot like off the tips of the leaves but between the branch and the leaf will. which I don't think they do:)

beware if you get a ficus silk comes off the leaves don't get it in the cham's eye it is mildly toxic

this is normal if you hold them if you hold so they are black or darker color so that means he's stressed.don't hold him that much or will decrease lifespan.usually don't pull them off when basking or sitting in the warm spot. :)
i think you can't keep those things because I've heard that they're for very experienced keepers only:( which i think you should keep easier chams first then moderate chams and then hard chams and then expert only chams hope this helps
first how to build cage
you need plastic tub, mesh, lid, cutting tool, and glue
you have the plastic tub cut squares out where ever needed probably on sides and lid. cut out mesh a little bigger then square holes and glue it on with silicone glue.
next buy crickets 1000 for small chams not...
